LoL player claims Arena Mode is the “most fun they’ve had with the game in years”

Publish Date: July 30, 2023

Most seasoned League of Legend players know agree that LoL often doesn’t provide the same sense of fun as it used to. But according to one gamer, the brand new Arena Mode is providing the most fun they’ve had with the game in years.

They stated, “I love Arena. Is it a completely flawless mode? Of course not. Am I having fun? Heck yes.” The post has since gone viral on /rLeagueofLegends, becoming a forum to discuss the game mode.

Many appear to be thoroughly enjoying Arena Mode, but some voice concerns regarding the game — providing ways to potentially improve the 2v2 arena.

“Just wish I could play with multiple teams of 2. Playing against friend teams would be so funny,” one Redditor commented, expressing a desire to play customs.

There is some good news. According to the comments, if the mode becomes popular enough, the developers “will release custom modes.” Apparently, this feature was originally intended to enter the game, but the developers had to cut it out due to time constraints.

Though the game mode is currently temporary, there’s a slim chance that it’ll stick around. Riot is using Arena Mode’s debut as a testing period to see if it’ll be popular enough with the player base to warrant being permanently added. The team responsible for the game mode definitely want the game mode to succeed, as they work very actively to improve and the experience as a whole.

Since the game’s debut in patch 13.14, they’ve already added two balance updates, with another coming up in the future patch 13.15. Seeing as how they’re updating alongside League of Legends, there appears to be hope in the game mode’s longevity — as this trend is how TFT began updating as well.

“I am sick and f**king tired of my friends only wanting to play aram and this would be the cure,” another player added.

As the player stated, this game mode would be a great balance to add a more casual friendly play environment for the community. Arena Mode provides intense combat without the need to farm it out for thirty minutes, cutting immediately to intense action.

Despite resounding support for the game mode, only time will tell if LoL Arena Mode is here to stay.
