Warwick is an incredible bruiser in the new League of Legends 2v2 Arena mode. His sustainability alongside crowd control allows him to take over games — making him a highly contested pick. Abuse his ultimate to single out a target, typically guaranteeing the kill and the match thereafter.
From building him properly, understanding which augments to take, and knowing which champions he doesn’t play well against, Warwick takes a strong understanding to master in the new League of Legends Arena mode.

These target bans counter Warwick pretty hard. Yorick’s walls prevent Warwick from being able to keep close in the distance. The bruiser then sends out his minions to shred through Warwick’s health.
Meanwhile, Shaco and Heimerdinger both have traps and turrets which can be very tedious for Warwick to deal with. But often times, other players do ban out these champions. Vayne can be a very hard counter against Warwick, especially if the wolfman doesn’t land his ult on the marksmen.
Warwick players pretty well with practically every meta pick in the game. In fact, the Warwick pick actually puts a lot of team compositions together, since his sustain and crowd control provide incredible value.
Ex: Kayle, Jax, Sett, Kai’Sa
From hyper carry picks like Kayle or Kai’Sa, Warwick plays wonderfully with late game damage monsters. But he’s not limited to just playing with hyper carries. He synergizes wonderfully with other bruisers, such as Sett and Jax, since they can simply lock down the enemy until death.
Overall, Warwick is a pretty versatile pick, and players should definitely learn to play him if they want to master Arena Mode.
Divine Sunderer is a great item on Warwick, since it helps with his health sustain. Players will want to build Warwick mostly as a damage dealing bruiser — with defensive items thrown in the mix only when necessary.
Guinsoo’s Rageblade in general is a pretty busted item in the game mode. The increase of on hit effects alongside the attack speed it provides will definitely be nerfed, and Warwick plays well with attack speed.
Some champions benefit from building full tank, such as Maokai and Alistar. Warwick is not one of these champions. His play style in Arena Mode works best when dealing as much damage as fast as possible, since that’s the meta of the game mode.
His innate sustain built in synergizes best with attack speed rather than actual defensive items.
Symphony of War is one of the best prismatic augment, since it provides lethal tempo and conqueror’s, two excellent runes on the champion. Ultimate Revolution is also an excellent choice, since Warwick’s biggest asset to a team fight is his ability to lock down a single target.
If players cannot get either of these two, then just go for any other damage oriented one, such as Feel the Burn or Goliath.
Lightning Strikes and Firebrand are two of the best augments for Warwick within the Gold Tier. Get these whenever possible, since they synergize wonderfully with Warwick’s kit.
If players don’t have access to it, Shrink Ray, Perseverance, and Willing Sacrifice are also great options.
Light ’em Up! combos way too well with Guinsoo’s Rageblade, which happens to also work excellently with Warwick’s kit. The item seems almost specifically catered for champions who build the specific mythic, making for insane amounts of damage.
Deft is almost always a good choice as well, especially if Light ’em Up! doesn’t show up.
If the best runes are not available, aim for Infernal Soul, Ocean Soul, and Typhoon.
