LoL 2v2 Arena Kaisa guide: Item build, best augments, more

Publish Date: July 27, 2023

Kaisa is a late game monster in the new League of Legends 2v2 Arena mode. She has insane consistency form the early to late game, and has a very steady stream of damage. The pick is highly contested, standing as one of the best champions in LoL’s Arena mode.

From building her properly, understanding which augments to take, and knowing which champions she doesn’t play well against, Kaisa takes a strong understanding to master in the new League of Legends Arena mode.

Target bans

  • Teemo
  • Heimerdinger
  • Shaco

To start off, know which champions to ban during champion select. The prime ban for Kaisa would definitely have to be Teemo, who is also a menace in the League of Legends 2v2 game mode. Teemo’s blind makes Kaisa practically unplayable, since she relies solely on auto attacks to deal damage.

In addition, Teemo himself generally super strong in the mode. His shroom control and invisibility allow him to take opponents off guard. And when playing Kaisa, you definitely want to be on guard all the time, aware of all the potential threats. Invisible Teemo shrooms that slow and deal insane damage simply aren’t the best to play against Kaisa.

For Heimerdinger and Shaco, they’re typically permabanned anyway. Therefore, just wait it out in champion select. Someone else is likely to ban the champions anyway.

Team synergy

Kaisa plays incredibly well alongside tanks. The key is to kite and abuse Kaisa’s invisibility, stacking her passive on the enemy as much as possible. Therefore, having a teammate to front line and oak damage is optimal.

  • ex: Taric, Maokai, Alisatr, Zac, Warwick, Wukong

Kaisa plays incredibly well with Alistar. This is a prime duo, since Alistar helps keep enemies off of Kaisa, while Kaisa just shreds through the enemy.

Arena Kaisa Item Build

  • Best: Nashor’s Tooth, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Berserker’s Greaves
  • Situational: Immortal Shieldbow, Kraken Slayer, Blade of the Ruined King, Guardian Angel

Rushing Nashor’s Tooth is insanely value on Kaisa. It allows Kaisa to evolve both her W and her E simultaneously — providing an incredible power boost. Granted, build Guardian Hammer first, then Berserker’s Greaves thereafter.

Rageblade Kaisa is the way

Similar to Vayne, Kaisa makes great use of Guinsoo’s Rageblade. It’s quite tempting to opt for critical strike items, but Guinsoo’s Rageblade is undeniably the better itemization.

This is the way.

Guinsoo’s Rageblade is generally incredibly valuable in Arena mode, since it generally offers phenomenal dueling potential. Players will want to avoid crit items, since Guinsoo’s negates crit stats anyhow. There are two items that are still great, despite their crit stats: Immortal Shieldbow and Kraken Slayer.

Immortal Shieldbow provides a great passive, providing a shield which combos excellently with Kaisa’s objective is staying keeping alive. Kraken Slayer as well has a great passive, which makes up for its lack of crit stats in the build.

Arena Kaisa Best Augments

Prismatic Tier

  • Best: Can’t Touch This, Symphony of War
  • Good: Mystic Punch, Omni Soul, Thief’s Gloves, Ultimate Revolution

Can’t Touch This grants Kaisa invulnerability after casting her ultimate. This fixes Kaisa’s biggest weakness: vulnerability. Though she deals great damage, she’s incredibly squishy. Therefore, without ‘Can’t Touch This’, getting jumped by the opponent in the late game often spells out her inevitable dom.

Symphony of War is the second best prismatic augment, since it provides lethal tempo and conqueror’s, two excellent runes on the champion. If players cannot get either of these two, then just go for any other damage oriented one.

Gold Tier

  • Best: Scoped Weapons
  • Good: Lightning Strikes, Firebrand, Ethereal Weapon

Scope Weapons is a busted augment, and will definitely see nerf in the future. The amount of ranged it provides breaks the game. And in the hands of a basic attack based champion, such as Kaisa, it provides absurd amounts of utility. Get this whenever possible.

If players don’t have access to it, Lightning Strikes, Firebrand, and Ethereal Weapon are all good augments as well. Otherwise, just get damage oriented augments.

Silver Tier

  • Best: Light ’em Up!, Deft
  • Good: Infernal Soul, Executioner, Fallen Aegis

Light ’em Up! combos way too well with Guinsoo’s Rageblade. The item seems almost specifically catered for champions who build the specific mythic, making for insane amounts of damage.

If the best rune is not available, aim for Infernal Soul, as it grants great damage. Fallen Aegis is a solid defensive option, but its weakness is that it only lasts 12 seconds, and the shield is far too small during the late game — which is when Kaisa needs defensive optimization the most.
