LEC Power Rankings: 2022 Summer Split Week 6

Robert HanesBy Robert HanesJuly 27, 2022Updated:August 1, 20224 Mins Read

The LEC 2022 season started with G2 surprising everyone and rising to the top much earlier than anticipated. Now, everyone is playing catchup. Some teams made moves while others stayed put. Week 5 had a few teams find their footing while one, in particular, continued to slide. It still feels like nearly any team could win, except for one. Here are the LEC 2022 Summer Split Week 6 Power Rankings.

[Related: LEC Power Rankings: 2022 Summer Split Week 5]

    10. Team BDS (1-10)

    (Last Week: 10)

Well, they are kind of listening to last week’s advice by bringing up LIMIT. Sadly though he has already been here and not performed. This team is quite doomed at this point.

    9. Astralis (5-6)

    (Last Week: 9)

Another week and another time where it feels bad to be Astralis. This race is so tight. So being in ninth is less of an indictment on the team and more just how close the LEC is right now. A win over just BDS is not going to get anyone moved up right now.

    8. SK Gaming (4-7)

    (Last Week: 8)

It is sort of a rinse and repeat situation for SK Gaming. They were unable to put a dent in the MAD Lions and were able to make quick work of BDS. Only reason SK get to stay here is that they are have won three of their last four.

    7. Fnatic (5-6)

    (Last Week: 4)

How the mighty have fallen. It seems like what Markoon said is ringing true. Fnatic look completely lost and are almost playing solo queue games right now. Maybe the absolute drubbing by Excel will wake this team up. Something has to or they

    6. Misfits (5-6)

    (Last Week: 3)

The winning streak for Misfits came to an abrupt end. They are still fighting for a playoff spot and are realistically in a good position. That being said when Vetheo is not rolling, Misfits are not as well. It will be interesting to see how Zanzarah fits in with this squad. Could he be the missing piece that propels Misfits into a more comfortable playoff position?

    5. Vitality (6-5)

    (Last Week: 5)

This week Vitality stay put. That is not as much of an indicator for them though. A win over Misfits certainly helps their playoff chances. That said, they are not a team that inspires much confidence. On their good days they are a solid team. On any other day they are very beatable. Luckily they are having more good days than bad.

    4. G2 Esports (6-5)

    (Last Week: 7)

Taking down Rogue was huge for G2 as they found themselves again in week 5. They let Astralis hang around a bit but were pretty confident in their win there too. These were two wins that G2 needed badly. They are firmly back in a position to fight for a top spot but they need to show some more before they can climb these LEC Power Rankings.

    3. Excel (7-4)

    (Last Week: 6)

They’re back. Many were wondering if their hot start was just that, a hot start. Week 5 was pivotal in proving just how good this team can be. They truly are better than the sum of their parts with everyone helping them find victory. Right now Markoon and Patrick are the catalysts. As they go, so does the team. They have another big weekend against Vitality and MAD in week 6. Should they find a way to go 2-0 again then their talks of top two coming roaring right back.

    2. Rogue (8-3)

    (Last Week: 1)

Rogue should honestly be happy that G2 shellacked them. It is weird to say but they needed to find some things to work on and this couldn’t be at a more perfect time. They play Misfits and Astralis next. Both are teams that are good but not great. Thus it should be easy for Rogue to try out some new things and still likely come away with a victory.

    1. MAD Lions (8-3)

    (Last Week: 2)

This team is cooking like an Iron Chef right now. But for real, they are the real deal and yet again when will Kaiser get the MVP discussion that he deserves? MAD do not necessarily have an easy week ahead of them with a desperate Fnatic and strong Excel in their way. But it really may not matter. This team is playing that well right now.
