The LEC is back for the Winter with some teams making a lot of changes and only one squad sticking with at least four players from 2023. Each of these teams will be duking it out to not only win an LEC Championship but also to get the chance to go to MSI. This new format will certainly throw a wrinkle into things but the fans should get some great games. For those who like to put some money down on who they think will win, here are the LEC Picks for Week 3 of the 2023 Winter Split.

AST vs. SK
Last week was rough, no one did what was expected so confidence is pretty low. That being said, SK are on a four-game winning streak and as long as Kobbe doesn’t solo carry, they should win here.
HER vs. XL
Excel are fighting for their lives while Heretics seem to be finding their groove. XL have burned pickers all season. They play their best and find their second win of the season here.
BDS vs. G2
This game will come down to Hans sama. If he gets an early lead and maybe even an early kill then G2 win. If not then their attempt at a win goes down. Crownie and Labrov have been playing well but G2 are still very good. BrokenBlade puts Adam in his place and G2 go on to win their fifth game of the split.
FNC vs. MAD
Well, this feels like a trap. And since it probably is, picking Fnatic feels like the right choice. Right? Again confidence is pretty low but there is no way Rekkles is actually washed.
VIT vs. KOI
Similar to Excel, Koi are fighting for their next-round lives here. The problem is that Vitality is really good. Unless Perkz or Bo ints, this game should go the way of Vitality. But the LEC is wholly unpredictable so who knows?
Okay, no more complaining. Time to feign confidence. SK are on a five-game winning streak and should continue that here. The main reason is not only confidence but they seem to know who they are and how they want to play. Excel on the other hand, do not. Even with Excel getting a win on day one, playing against a team that is directly the opposite in terms of knowing themselves, instantly puts Excel behind the eight ball.
This should be a fun one. These two teams will actually be battling it out with a chance to have a tiebreaker for the top spot. BDS have been one of the biggest surprises of the year and even though they lose to G2 they win here. Call it a gut feeling.
Another fun matchup and one where both teams are recovering from tough loses. In that situation, it is hard to pick against the veteran team to find their way. MAD may not be perfect but they are solid and that is enough for Elyoya and Nisqy to help this team find the win.
Fnatic need another win big time and they are being blessed with the opportunity to play Astralis when they might need a break the most. Again, Kobbe is the major threat here. Fnatic will nuetralize him and Humanoid will push over Dajor as FNC find their way to another win and likely a next round spot.
Poor KOI, they should have won more against not the top teams in the LEC. Sadly G2 are very good and even though Comp may actually beat Hans, it still will not be enough. Look for Caps to carry G2 to a victory.
Heretics have their backs against the wall here and that is where players like Jankos shine. BDS are full of confidence at this point in the season and are just happy to be in the next round. Heretics will be on that edge and needing a win here Jankos and Jakspektra step up big time to deliver the win.
If KOI lose here then they will need to do a lot of soul-searching at home during the next round that they likely will not be participating in. Astralis will have to do the same but with more urgency as they will have to make moves if they even hope to compete during the Spring Split.
At this point, both of these teams are fighting for seeding. SK will be in the hunt for the top spot while Fnatic will just want to not be at the bottom of the next round. Because of SK’s lack of experience they will overlook Fnatic and that will be the time for the orange and black to strike. Fnatic remind the league that they are still a team to be feared with a win here.
Carzzy has been pretty average this year. Because of that, G2 will be able to get Hans the lead he needs. Add BrokenBlade into the mix and one gets a G2 win.
It is potentially win or go home for Excel here. Sadly, it is probably go home as KOI have the tiebreaker against XL. Vitality are a very strong team and while they can be beaten, it won’t be by a team that lacks any sort of synergy like Excel does at this point in the very quick Winter Split.
