League of Legends K’sante has been running rampant in the MOBA. Riot initially changed his kit to allow him to see more average play. But comboed with his recent buffs in patch 13.21, the champion is now at the top of the tier lists for the top lane. Boasting a 14% pick rate in Emerald and higher in Korea, with a very solid win rate, K’Sante is causing a stir in the League of Legends community.

The character is trending on the League of Legends subreddit. Though the post is now deleted, one player stated, “K’sante is absolutely disgusting this patch.”
Many others related with the post, using the post to rant about their opinions regarding the champion.
“Riot needs to think about the balance of any ability that Moves a champion, it is so f**king disorienting to play against,” another stated.
Of course, there is disagreement in the comment section. This disagreement could have been one of the reasons for the post being deleted — though the moderator officially stated it’s due to “unoriginality.” The moderator claimed it was a “repost.”
Other Redditors discuss League of Legends K’Sante as well, pondering his new statistics this season, “According to Lolalytics data, he is the #1 toplaner in Masters+ and his pick rate is not low anymore. His winrate is not elite skewed as before, he has more than 50% winrate even in Gold+.”
The League of Legends community is renown for complaining all the time. So is the character actually overpowered, or are players simply being over dramatic? Well, stats for the champion’s pick rate are honestly a little insane.
Across all ranks, he has a pick rate of around 9%. So that’s not insanely high, but his pick rate increases drastically in higher elo.
In Diamond, League of Legends K’Sante pick rate is at 14.69%, according to Lolanalytics. On top of that, his win rate is at 52%. It’s in Masters and higher where he becomes a true problem. In Master, K’Sante pick rate is 17.06%, and his win rate is 56.05%. For Grandmaster, his pick rate jumps up to 19.93% and win rate increases to 56.13%. In Challenger, his pick rate is at a whopping 23.15%, with a 59.79% win rate. These stats indicate an issue with the champion’s balancing.
One can argue that he’s not that strong in low elo. And this is true.
But in attempting to make K’Sante more friendly for casual players, Riot effectively made him overpowered in the high elo. After all, K’Santa is one of those champions that is a very high skill cap pick — so it makes sense to look at high elo stats to gauge his strength.
