All New Champions Coming in 2023
Milio
Milio will be the first new champion from Ixtal since Qiyana all the way back in the middle of 2019.
He will be focused on fire as an element. Instead of being damage focused though, he will be a healer. This will certainly be a stark contrast to a champion like Brand, at least in theory.
What else is known about Milio as he joins League of Legends is that he will be an enchanter and is meant to be played in the bot lane as a support. Whether this will stick or not is yet to be seen. The main reason for this is that his abilities have not been revealed, only hinted at. With his release date likely coming sometime in February or early March at the latest, it feels like more will be shown about him sooner than people may think.
Milio will certainly be an interesting champion based on what has been revealed so far. With Aurelion Sol coming out here in the next few weeks, all of the focus will turn quickly to Milio.
Naafiri
Naafiri will be the first Darkin champion to come out in over half a decade. Kayn was released back in 2017.
Naafiri will be a champion that is seemingly very easily identified by being the Darkin Dagger along with the eye that is seen in the initial tease. During this latest update on the champion, it is clear that these eys have a lot to do with it.
Along with Naafiri being a Darkin, this champion is notably one of the first non-humanoid champions in a long time. Even though Bel’Veth technically fit this description, she still had a human head attached to her. Naafiri is rumored to be some sort of wolf, and one that will hopefully not look too much like Warwick.
Lastly, they will be intended to be a mid lane assassin, whether that will actually be the case or not is not completely known at this time. That is due to the fact that the Naafiri Abilities are only speculative at this point. As Riot likes to do, they mix things in with the description they give of the champion. It will be interesting to see what the players figure out from it all.
Hangry Jungler
All that was shown for this champion was a castle that looks straight out of Castlevania. That likely means that this champion will be making their way to Summoners Rift from Noxus, but they could also be from Zaun. Regardless, this champion seems like it will be coming out after the Skarner rework which means a late Summer or early Fall release.
Artistic Mid Laner
Not much was shown about this champion either. It was said that this champion was artistic and looming in the distance. Could they be the first champion from a previously unknown region? It feels like this might be the case but they could also be from Targon or a surrounding area and be related to Diana in some way as there was an upside-down crescent moon on the tower shown in the video. This champion feels likely to be slated for a release near the end of the year.
All Completely Reworked Champions Coming in 2023
Aurelion Sol
A lot has been revealed already. He will finally be getting a kit that feels strong. He will be hitting the Rift with Patch 13.2
Skarner
There is still not too much on Skarner but it feels as though his rework will be coming out in the middle of the year. Considering

Actually Nilah was the first champ from a new region in years. She hails from Kathkan, a region on the same eastern continent as Camavor (where Viego was originally from)
You are 100% right, thank you!
