Publish Date: July 4, 2023

The page has turned to the 2023 Summer and LCS fans everywhere would normally be excited to see where their teams stand. Like all Power Rankings, these LCS Power Rankings will instantly be wrong upon being published. But that is okay because pieces like these are fun thought experiments as the end of the season comes about. So, without further adieu, here are the LCS 2023 Summer Split Power Rankings, heading into Week 4.

10. Immortals (Last Week: 9)

Sadly Immortals have lost seven straight and the slide does not look like it will be stopping there. Kenvi just has not lived up to his top prospect form and even with Tactical playing better, the team just doesn’t have enough to get them over the top in any of their games. Do not look for changes to happen this Split but should Immortals stay in the LCS (pure speculation to be clear) it would be shocking to not see a nearly complete overhaul of the roster.

9. TSM (Last Week: 5)

Putting TSM fifth last week was not a mistake. Putting Ruby in over Insanity was the mistake. Sure he may not have been the main cause of their losses but if things are going well, why risk it with change? Well TSM learned their lessons the hard way. Insanity is starting again but can he be the spark the team needs to make sure they make their final LCS playoffs?

8. NRG (Last Week: 6)

Is this team really that bad? They have been in most of their games but they just don’t have that extra bit that they need. That “it” factor. Someone has to step up and soon or this team will just fade away. The fact they could miss an eight-team playoff is nearly unthinkable but they are just barely in at the halfway point of the season.

7. Dignitas (Last Week: 7)

Alright, it is time to admit some serious bias with this ranking. There is no way this Dignitas team is this good right? It feels like they are scrapping by more than outright winning but hey, 5-4 is 5-4. This is the week doubters, like this author, have been waiting for. Games against EG, C9 and FLY will give Dignitas the opportunity to prove everyone wrong.

6. 100 Thieves (Last Week: 8)

This squad is hanging on. Two wins this past week and seeing Quid play well should really make 100 Thieves fans happy. If Quid can continue to play well he will take pressure away from DoubleLift and allow this team to operate at its best. They are still sitting at 4-5 and have a really tough Week 4 coming up. If they can get two or three wins in this upcoming week then the hype-train can really get going.

5. Team Liquid (Last Week: 4)

It is crazy to think that Team Liquid could go 1-2 with their lone being over Cloud9 and still drop in the rankings. But this team continues to defy conventional expectations. They are not a bad team and not a good team yet in some games they are great and in others they are horrible. Team Liquid have to find some sort of consistency if they ever want to achieve their goals.

4. FlyQuest (Last Week: 10)

Are they back? They should be but still have to fully prove it to move up anywhere past fourth on this list. It was a huge week for FlyQuest as they went 3-0 and finally got on the board win-wise. The team knows that they have a chance to make a run and will look to continue their winning ways heading into Week 4.

3. Golden Guardians (Last Week: 3)

This team just keeps humming along. Sure they lost to NRG in a game that felt a bit strange for the Guardians but then they went and put a hurting on 100 Thieves and Team Liquid to end the week. While they are still not playing at their peak, Golden Guardians are confirming with each win why they are a top team in the LCS.

2. Evil Geniuses (Last Week: 2)

A win over Cloud9 would have vaulted EG into first place. Instead, they stay tied in the standings and just under C9 in these Power Rankings. They are officially a good team after finishing 7-2 during the first half. That said, a second half similar to FlyQuest last Split and all of the good feelings get washed away very quickly.

1. Cloud9 (Last Week: 1)

Team Liquid felt like a game that Cloud9 would lose. This author even said so in his picks piece from last week. They did but then they turned right around and stomped EG. Cloud9 are the best team in the LCS and that doesn’t seem like it is going to change anytime soon.
