The 2023 LCS Season is fast approaching and it is time to start looking at all the LCS teams and their players to determine how good their Spring Split could be. This is the top lane Preseason Power Rankings and is the first of three different editions of this piece. The goal will be to look at each player in their respective role and see where they rank compared to the opposition. Here are the LCS 2023 Spring Split Support Power Rankings ranked from 10 to 1.

There were some surprising moves in the LCS, Fleshy coming over from the TCL was one of those moves. It isn’t that he is a bad signing, he is just a major unknown for a team that already has lower to mid-at-best players. In the TCL he was solid. His laning stats were good, he was involved in a lot of kills and was second in assists. The issue is whether that will translate over into an LCS that has only gotten better. Turkish players have a good history when coming to the LCS. Look at BrokenBlade, Closer and Luger as great examples. That being said, Fleshy was not one on many radars. He will either be a fantastically overlooked pickup or someone who is quickly out of the league.
Many thought it was egregious that IgNar was not picked up at the beginning of the 2022 season. Then once he was brought onto Immortals, he struggled to find chemistry with Lost. This led to IgNar having the worst Split of his career. He was last in kill participation and last in assists while having the second-worst laning stats in the LCS. What is even worse is that Chime had three more assists than IgNar and he played in seven fewer games on a team that was not known for getting a lot of kills. IgNar is getting what might be his last chance on a Dignitas team that many expect to compete. If he struggles then it may be time to say goodbye to a once-great LCS player.
It is really hard to figure out where to put Poome. He rarely costs his team that game but even with an ADC as great as Luger, he still seems to struggle. Everyone knew that Poome and Luger came as a pair and CLG took a chance on bringing them together. This year, they will be looking for Poome to make some big strides in order to help get Luger ahead. They are a major win condition for CLG and if the bot lane struggles as a whole, Poome will likely get the blame before Luger. With the LCS leveling up, it is put up or shut up time for Poome in 2023.
There is no doubt that 100 Thieves are taking part of the EG playbook this season. Busio is the young talent and a talented player at that. Putting Busio this low is not intended as a slight to his current or potential ability. It is more of a precaution as he is being put in an interesting situation for his rookie season. He will be the support for Doublelift and with that comes a lot of pressure and responsibility. This is especially true considering DL hasn’t played in two years. If Busio can create a strong duo lane then he will go screaming up these LCS 2023 Spring Split Support Power Rankings.
TSM were essentially out of options when they decided to go for Chime. They had to be elated when he played way above everyone’s expectations. Not only was he solid during the regular season but he came up with big play after big play during their surprising playoff run. It felt like he understood the team and where he needed to be for every fight. While it was only a handful of games, Chime impressed. Look for him to have a great 2023 season as the in-game leader for TSM.
If it were not for CoreJJ, Eyla would have easily become the starting support for TL considering how well he played during the 2022 Spring Split. Unfortunately for him, CoreJJ is well, CoreJJ. Now on what should be a great FlyQuest team, Eyla will be paired with Prince. While it may take them a little while to build their chemistry, there is a world where they become the best bot lane duo in the LCS. This means there will be a lot of pressure for Eyla, but considering how well he handled it on TL, this season should be a piece of cake.
There were rumors that Zven was looking for opportunities as an ADC again in the LCS. Those did not come to pass and instead, he is back as a support. Worlds 2022 was not kind to Zven as his champion pool was exposed a bit. With a full offseason of practice and time with Berserker, there is no chance that Zven won’t be better. He is as hard of a worker as there is in the LCS, and is likely one of the better trash-talkers as was seen during the Kickoff Event. Look for Zven to kick it up a notch coming into 2023.
For the past few years, it has been CoreJJ, Vulcan and yes, huhi as the cream of the crop in the LCS at Support. While huhi will be on a much worse team with Golden Guardians, that is not enough for huhi to take a major step back. He surely will not have the same stats as he did with FBI but if he is able to anchor GG then he will have earned this spot. Look for huhi to have one more great year near the top of the LCS at his position.
Even in a “down year”, CoreJJ was still a strong player. This year, he gets new blood again. His task will be to guide the likes of Yeon and Haeri to the promised land, similarly to how he did with Tactical. Lucky for him, Pyosik is coming off of a Worlds Championship and Summit was an LCS MVP in his last LCS Split. Core should be able to focus on the bottom half of the map to make sure that major mistakes are not made. If Core can turn Yeon into a top-level ADC, then it may be the masterpiece of his LCS career.
Listen, CoreJJ is very good, but Vulcan was just on another level in 2022. The man had an 8.7 KDA, as a Support. He had 209 assists in 18 games which is the most ever in that amount of games. Sure, Evil Geniuses were a great team, but Vulcan was also involved in kills nearly 78% of the time, which was also the best in the LCS. To add to this, he also died the least amount of times for a Support with more than three games at 25. Mia, the TSM Support for 7 games died three more times. Vulcan is in his prime and it is an absolute pleasure to watch.
