The LCS 2020 Scouting Grounds Draft is just under a week away and that means, this week will be the last week of preparation for the teams and players. This year there are a lot of unknown names and some very young players who could make an impact. With that in mind, many will be asking who their team might draft on draft night? Well here is the latest TGH LCS Mock Draft.
1. Immortals: APA– Mid
Mid lane is probably the best position at the draft in terms of potential. APA is an absolute stud and if he performs even as expected at Scouting Grounds he should be the first pick. If Immortals are looking to build up a sort-of farm system, having APA in it is great for a number of reasons.
2. CLG: Yeon– Bot
Similar to Immortals, CLG should be looking at young talent to develop. Yeon has already gotten some experience with 100 Thieves Next and should be a top target for any LCS team. CLG are able to grab him and should look at having him learn under Stixxay before giving him the keys.
3. Dignitas: Copy– Mid
For a team in desperate need of young mid lane help, Copy will be the best available option. There is a chance APA falls here too if IMT or CLG decide that Copy and/or Yeon are worth a passing on him. If not DIG should be happy to have Copy available and could start him right away if they are looking to develop talent alongside Johnsun.
4. 100 Thieves: Spawwwwn– Bot
Currently the most active LCS team in cultivating talent, with Yeon gone, 100 Thieves next will need a new Bot. Spawwwwn has been in the amateur scene for a while and might just need a major org to help him reach his full potential. The Thieves roll the dice and bring him in here.
5. Evil Geniuses: RoseThorn– Jng
There is definitely an argument that can be made for RoseThorn going higher. That said, Evil Geniuses should be pumped to get him here. He is extremely talented and for a team filled with older junglers, getting some new blood will help them prepare for the future.
6. Golden Guardians: Niles– Top
Should Niles drop here Golden Guardians should be ecstatic. He is probably the most pro-ready talent available and with Hauntzer possibly on his way out, Niles could fill in right away. Like all prospects making the jump, he may need some time to develop on the fly. That said, he has been waiting for this opportunity and has been a part of arguably the best developmental college in esports.
7. Immortals (Trade/Buyout with Cloud9): Plux– Sup
Immortals need help everywhere and especially at a cheap price. A buyout to get the only support under 20 in the draft might be exactly what they need. Cloud9 on the other hand have an incredible academy team already and most of the players still available here would not be an upgrade for them. Instead, they will use some of this money for their potential signings in the future.
8. Team Liquid: CptShrimps– Mid
The TL Academy team is looking a little worse for ware. They need some talent and CptShrimps might be the best available at this point. He plays a ton of different champions and some experience on stage with the University of Waterloo. While he won’t be supplanting Jensen, he will be a nice option to develop.
9. FlyQuest: Nxi– Jng
He is a bit on the older side in terms of a prospect but when he stepped in on 100 Thieves Next for Kenvi, he excelled. If Santorin is on his way out then Fanatiik may be stepping in. By drafting Nxi, FlyQuest can have the two battle it out for the position and this should help each of them up their game.
10. TSM: Auto– Sup
With Biofrost and Treatz likely both out the door, TSM will need a player to step in for their Academy team. Auto is a great choice here as he has a lot of experience and can help Lost should he still be staying in Academy. The once bot laner turned support gets his chance to be the next Huhi while still finding value as a teacher as well.
