With the release of season 2 of Arcane getting closer by the day, and Ambess Medarda being confirmed as the next playable champion, leaks are circulating about Mel Medarda, daughter of Ambess, being added to the game as well. According to the leaks, Mel would be a mage champion and may take inspiration from other mage champions already in the game.

Twitter user @LeagueOfLeaks uploaded this post on October 15th, showcasing a leaked image of the potential champion icon of Mel Medarda, alongside placeholder ability icons from other champions such as Lux and Kennen.
Mel is one of the primary characters in Season 1 of Netflix’s show, Arcane. Mel is a politician and aristocrat, residing as one of the most powerful people in all of Piltover. In Arcane, Mel forms a close relationship with Jayce, bringing him into the elite council of Piltover, and working with him to bring Piltover into the golden age of Hextech technology.
Although we do not have any information on her abilities yet, what we know from looking at the ability placeholder icons is that she will be an AP mage champion, with a supportive shield on her W. The recommended items for Mel, notably Luden’s Companion and Horizon Focus tell us that she will focus on bursting enemies down from long range.
There is no confirmed release date for Mel Medarda for League of Legends, however, according to the leaks, she may come around sometime in 2025 following the hype of the release of season 2 of Arcane. Mel could potentially be the first new champion of 2025 alongside the start of season 15 of League of Legends.
