Immortals to start Allorim, Xmithie, Insanity, Apollo and Hakuho for LCS Week 3

Publish Date: June 27, 2020

According to a report out of ESPN”s Emily Rand, Immortals will start its Academy roster in LCS this weekend. Allorim, Xmithie, Insanity, Apollo and Hakuho start for their first time in Summer Split, while sOAZ, Potluck, Eika, Altec and Gate bump down to Academy.

This roster swap follows Immortals’ June 25th announcement parting ways with General Manager Keaton and Head Coach Zaboutine. Mike Schwartz is interim General Manager. Paul “Malaclypse” Decsi coaches Immortals Academy and Adrien “GotoOne” Picard acts as Assistant Coach. Immortals missed playoffs in Spring Split, and they started Summer Split 0-4. The community has criticized their roster and performance quite a bit in recent months.

Xmithie, Apollo and Hakuho played the majority of Spring Split. Allorim has not played in LCS since early Spring Split 2019 with OpTic Gaming. Insanity has not played a single LCS match yet. Immortals Academy is winning more in their league than Immortals in LCS. Their 3-3 record is currently enough for a fourth place tie.

“I know it’s kind of been a sticking point for NA fans in general, but we did run some internal practices before the summer split started and Potluck came out of that and we wanted to make it clear that he earned the spot to start, and we have seen some really good things from him especially coming through in the first couple of weeks,” Schwartz said. “Our performance overall is unacceptable. 0-4 is not what we wanted as a company or an organization, but within that, looking towards some of those younger pieces we have is a plus for us and something we had planned for.”
