Immortals drops General Manager Keaton and LCS Coach Zaboutine

Publish Date: June 25, 2020

Late yesterday, Immortals tweeted they are parting ways with General Manager Keaton and LCS Coach Zaboutine.

This leadership change follows an 0-4 start to the 2020 LCS Summer Split and an eighth place finish in the 2020 LCS Spring Split. Fans have questioned the value of Eika as an imported mid laner, as well as changes to the starting roster between splits. Zaboutine tweeted his own message, saying “I don’t think this is the time to make speeches, confessions or conclusions. I think the only thing that is important now is to thank all the people who have believed in me, my ideas or my projects. Thank you from the heart. Thank you.” (translated from French).

Zaboutine and Keaton joined Immortals from the OpTic Gaming acquisition at the beginning of 2020. Prior to that, they worked with OpTic together for two years. The tweet did not mention who Immortals may have lined up to fill these roles. Paul “Malaclypse” Decsi currently coaches Immortals Academy, while Adrien “GotoOne” Picard acts as an Assistant Coach.
