While the LPL is on pause due to the coronavirus outbreak, here is a look at each team participating in the tournament. Today’s team will be Invictus Gaming, who will be looking to take back their crown.
With Duke’s exit from the team, TheShy is going to be the team’s only top laner. The top laner, often regarded as one of the best in the world, will be playing tanks for the team if they ever choose to play with a utility top. Known as an explosive top laner, a successful year playing both utility and carry picks will be a testament to his strength. But in the current meta, his usual carry picks will suit him just fine
Having all but completely replaced Ning, Leyan seems to be IG’s main jungler moving forward. Slowly but surely building up better synergy with his team, Leyan has proven himself to be a much more reliable jungler then Ning. Being on-point with his abilities, as well as being able to pick up new heroes almost immediately, he has earned his spot on the starting roster.
The superstar mid laner is back for another year. After being heavily criticized for having mediocre performances during 2019, he ended the year on a high note, performing well at worlds. Despite putting on good performances, he was unable to climb the mountain that was FPX. Now, with a new and invigorated bot lane, Rookie will try to guide his team back to their glory days.
Following the exit of former star JackeyLove, Puff will be Invictus Gaming’s new carry. Joining the team alongside his long time partner Southwind, they arrived from Vici Gaming. While Vici struggled to have good performances, Puff and Southwind stood out. While many fans had concerns about how he would fair, replacing JackeyLove, he had good performances during week one, bringing hope to fans.
The second player to join the main roster, Southwind comes as a promise of being a better support. While many fans were unsure how Puff would compare to Jackeylove, most fans were certain that Southwind is an upgrade to Baolan. Along with the likes of Rookie and TheShy, as well as synergy with fellow bot-laner, Southwind will try to add some stability to IG’s bot lane.
