Golden Guardians Welcome Back Olleh for 2022 Season

Golden Guardians Olleh

After announcing the re-signing of two solo laners, Golden Guardians are welcoming back a familiar face. On Monday November 15, Golden Guardians announced the return of support Joo-sung “Olleh” Kim to the 2022 roster. Olleh joins the roster that currently consists of Eric “Licorice” Ritchie and Nicholas “Ablazeolive” Abbott.

Olleh took a year off from League of Legends after serving as a coach for GGS in 2020. As a coach, Olleh helped Golden Guardians finish 5th overall in the LCS Summer split with an even 9-9 record. As a player fans will remember Olleh playing for Team Liquid and for Immortals. Olleh helped both teams make Worlds in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, Olleh joined Golden Guardians but failed to qualify for the LCS playoffs. Olleh also played for Dignitas Academy in 2020, where the Academy roster finished inn the 3rd-4th spot.

Olleh joins a Golden Guardians team that had a rough run at 2021. Golden Guardians struggled in Summer, finishing the year 11-16, featuring several different looks at a starting roster. GGS called up Jonathan “Chime” Pomponio in the Summer season, and fans were curious to see if he had done enough to come back in 2022. It appears as though Golden Guardians are more comfortable with Olleh heading into 2022, where the team will look to turn their fortunes around.

Golden Guardians have yet to announce their new jungler and AD carry, and there are only rumors as to who they may pick up. As the free agency period begins to unfold, GGS fans are hoping to see some more exciting names to join the squad.
