Just when fans thought they knew what Cloud9 would do in the offseason, the team found a way to shake things up once again. On Wednesday November 17, news came out that Cloud9 plan to sign Berserker to the 2022 LCS roster. Berkser was the former AD for T1 Challengers. The news was reported first by DotEsport’s Jacob Wolf.

The signing comes as a surprise to many Cloud9 fans. Up until today’s reports, the running idea was that Cloud9 would be retaining Zven to play ADC for another year on C9. There were earlier rumors that Cloud9 would be bringing in other talent from the LCK, and the latest reports on Berserker only adds more credence to the idea. Berserker is set to be Cloud9’s second import player alongside Liiv SANDBOX’s Summit.

Cloud9 will sign the new ADC despite his lack of top-level experience. Berserker spent the past two years playing on T1’s academy team, T1 Challengers. There he helped the team place first in multiple monthly tournaments, and notch a first place finish in the LCK Challengers Spring 2021 split.
It is currently unclear who will spend the majority of the time laning with Berserker. At the moment, reports are noting that C9 will sign another new player in Winsome, a support player for Shadow Battlica. Winsome could potentially be sharing time with Isles at the support position as well. As the team works on dedcicing who will play support, fans can confidently say that C9 will look to move on from Zven. Cloud9 will look to Berserker to provide a spark in the bottom half of the map.
