Cloud9 2024 LCS Spring Split Preview

Publish Date: January 18, 2024

The LCS 2024 season is about to begin. This offseason was a doozy for the league as three teams left in TSM, Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians. Only one of those spots were filled with Shopify Rebellion taking over TSM’s slot and the LCS was cut down to eight teams. But now fans are wanting to know more about their team as we head toward the start of the season. Here is The Game Haus’ Cloud9 2024 LCS Spring Split Preview.

2023 Summer Review

The summer of 2023 for Cloud9 was a great one. It saw them go 13-5 while taking down EG and NRG on their way to the finals in New Jersey. But, then the unthinkable happened. After taking down NRG 3-0 the round before, NRG fought back at the Finals and won 3-1 ending Cloud9’s streak.

They would go on to disappoint at Worlds and clearly, they felt some changes were needed. It would see the end of Zven and EMENES’ time at C9 with some major additions to push for an incredible 2024.

2024 Spring Split Roster

Top- Fudge

Jng- Blaber

Mid- jojopyun

Bot- Berserker

Sup- Vulcan

The additions of jojopyun and Vulcan are ones that should truly see Cloud9 at full strength. In the past, they were taking a chance on one of two players. Now, it can be argued that this C9 team has the best player in every position in the LCS. Even calling Fudge a “weakness” is just dumb at this point. He may not be the focus of the team but he more than holds his own in the top lane.

Communication and having the same goals in-game will be crucial for this squad. If they can do that and get over the early season hump of playing together for the first time, this C9 team is as strong as any in LCS history.

2024 Spring Split Player to Watch: Fudge

There will be a lot of eyes on Fudge. As stated above, there are people who may believe that he is the “weak link” on this team. They would be wrong and just looking for a hole in the armor when there is none. Fudge has his moments but so does every player.

Along with this, the top lane will have as much focus as ever with the Void Grubs and all of the top lane champion and item changes. This is a chance for him to show everyone just how much he has grown over the years and become the undisputed top lane king.

Predicted Spring Placement: 1st

If anyone is predicting anything other than first for this team then they are just trolling. This squad genuinely could claim the title as the most talented group in LCS history. Cloud9 are not taking any chances and want to make both MSI and Worlds and show that they are definitively the best org in LCS history.

Truly, this team should be able to roll through regional play and then challenge some of the best from any other major region. Anything less than winning Finals and making a run at MSI for this squad will be concerning. The bar is set high, can Cloud9 hit it or even rise above it?
