100 Thieves 2024 LCS Spring Split Preview

Publish Date: January 15, 2024

The LCS 2024 season is about to begin. This offseason was a doozy for the league as three teams left in TSM, Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians. Only one of those spots were filled with Shopify Rebellion taking over TSM’s slot and the LCS was cut down to eight teams. But now fans are wanting to know more about their team as we head toward the start of the season. Here is The Game Haus’ 100 Thieves 2024 LCS Spring Split Preview.

2023 Summer Review

Summer 2023 was one that 100 Thieves fans would like to forget. While the team made the playoffs they were the eight-seed of 10 teams. They finished 7-11 and were quickly wiped in the Losers’ Bracket 3-1 by Team Liquid.

This team had pretty high expectations as well. The roster consisted of multiple LCS championship caliber players in Ssumday, Closer and Doublelift with a second split Busio, one of the more heralded prospects in recent years. Quid was the unknown and a player they had to scramble to get after Bjergsen retired who played better than most thought he would.

It just felt like 100 Thieves were never able to find their groove. They would beat top teams like NRG one week and then lose to Immortals another week. The fact that they even limped into the playoffs with a loss to Dignitas was a disappointment. With Doublelift officially retiring, it was no wonder that they decided to clean house and bring in a new roster.

2024 Spring Split Roster

Top- Sniper

Jng- River

Mid- Quid

Bot- Meech

Sup- Eyla

This roster is very young but filled with potential. Meech and Sniper are the two rookies who certainly have high ceilings and will be the focal points of the team. Add in Quid who only has one Split under his belt and Elya who has two and you can see that 100 Thieves are banking on development.

It will be River who will have to lead this team if they want to make any waves. He has years of experience at the highest level in multiple regions and will likely have to be the shotcaller for the team to find success.

2024 Spring Split Player to Watch: Sniper

While River will probably be the key to 100 Thieves’ success, it will be Sniper who is most worth watching. The younger brother of former LCS Pro, V1per, Sniper has been working his way through the LCS Amatuer and Academy system for years. At 17 years old, he is finally old enough to make his debut.

The talent has always been there as he was in challenger at a young age but like all new players, it will still take him some time to adjust to play at the highest level. There will probably be some jitters but, with an interesting top lane meta in the new season, watch for the team to rally around Sniper as he looks to make an impact in his rookie Split.

Predicted Spring Placement: 5th

There are a few tiers of teams in the LCS and 100 Thieves may not be at the bottom, but they are hovering just above it. This is especially true at the beginning of the Split. They have a lot of young and probably nervous players who are going to take some time to develop. If they are able to make playoffs, then that should be more than enough to call this Split successful. The potential on this team is enough to push for a top spot and River has willed his teams to victory in the past.

With that being said, it is hard to believe that they will finish in the top half of the LCS in the 2024 Spring. All it takes is one major losing streak for less experienced players to start digging themselves a hole. The hope will be that they can work through this Split and set their sights on fighting for a top spot in the Summer.
