Kings Trade for Harrison Barnes From Mavericks

The Kings and Mavericks have completed a trade that will have Harrison Barnes going to Sacramento in exchange for Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Barnes is scoring 17.8 points per game on 40.6% shooting for the Mavericks. He has seen an enlarged role in Dallas, after being a role player in Golden State for their NBA Championship in the 2014-2015 season. He was sitting on the bench in the Mavericks’ game against the Hornets when the trade was announced.

The Kings will hope to keep Barnes for the foreseeable future, as he has a player option for next season.

Jackson gives the Mavericks a young, developmental wing. The second-year pro out of North Carolina is averaging 6.7 points in 20.8 minutes per game.

Randolph, 37, has not played a minute for the Kings this season. The Mavericks will reportedly discuss his future with the team, which could make him a free agent to sign with any team in the coming days. He has averaged 16.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game throughout his career.
