The Kansas City Chiefs are signing kicker Justin Tucker to their practice squad, according to Sam McDowell and ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Tucker, a five-time First-Team All-Pro kicker, has not played in the NFL since 2024.
He was released by the Baltimore Ravens in May 2025 and served a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy following allegations of sexual misconduct. Tucker remained unsigned for the rest of the 2025 season.
Tucker was one of the premier kickers in the NFL throughout the 2010s and early 2020s and had a 13-year stint in Baltimore that included seven Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl victory during his rookie season.
The Chiefs’ signing of Tucker appears to provide insurance for their longtime kicker, Harrison Butker, who has had a lengthy and successful career with Kansas City but has struggled this season. Butker has missed five of his 16 field goal attempts this season, including two misses in the Chiefs’ Sunday Night Football loss to the Seahawks.
