Jason Witten to Return to the Dallas Cowboys for the 2019 season

Witten

Jason Witten’s time in the booth has come to an abrupt end as he announced earlier today he is leaving ESPN and returning to play for the Dallas Cowboys. He will be returning for his 16 season with the team.

Ian Rapoport tweeted the following regarding Witten’s decision.

Jason Witten told the Cowboys official website, “The fire inside of me to compete and play this game is just burning too strong,”. “This team has a great group of rising young stars, and I want to help them make a run at a championship. This was completely my decision, and I am very comfortable with it. I’m looking forward to getting back in the dirt.”

The 36-year-old Witten is an 11 time Pro Bowler and a two time First Team All-Pro. Over his career, he has 12,448 receiving yards, 1,152 receptions, and 68 receiving touchdowns. He will help elevate the passing game and give quarterback Dak Prescott another option alongside Amari Cooper.
