How does Lucky Stake work? The virtual currencies explained
Lucky Stake isn’t a typical online casino - it’s a sweepstakes casino. That means there’s no real money gaming involved. Instead, you’ll play with two types of virtual currency: Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins.
Here’s how each one works:
| Virtual currency |
What it’s for |
How you get it |
| Gold Coins |
Playing games in standard mode, which is purely for fun and entertainment. |
Purchase optional Gold Coin packages, or receive them for free through bonuses and giveaways. |
| Sweeps Coins |
Playing games in sweepstakes mode, where eligible Sweeps Coins winnings can be redeemed for virtual prepaid cards. |
Cannot be purchased. Only available through free bonuses and giveaways. |

- Free welcome bonus:

Table games are no longer available
You might find some Lucky Stake reviews saying you can play table games or live dealer games at this sweepstakes casino, but that’s outdated information. Previously, they offered a handful of RNG table games like roulette and blackjack, plus live dealer options such as Live Roulette, Speed Blackjack, and Sic Bo. But those games are gone now. Lucky Stake has completely shifted its focus to slots, so if you’re looking for blackjack, roulette, or live dealer action, you won’t find it here.
Design and navigation: A Lucky Stake review
As many Lucky Stake reviews have pointed out, this sweepstakes casino is very user-friendly. The layout is intuitive, so even complete beginners can navigate it with ease.
Your balance is always visible at the top of the screen, with a simple toggle to switch between Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins. On the left, a handy sidebar gives you quick access to key areas like the games lobby, help center, profile settings, the Gold Coin store, and the Sweeps Coin redemption page.
The games lobby itself is well organized. You can browse by category, filter by theme or software provider, or just use the search bar if you already know what you’re looking for. There’s also a “Favorites” section, where you can save games by clicking the star icon on their thumbnails, as well as a “Recently Played” section to help you pick up right where you left off.
On the technical side of things, there's nothing for us to complain about. Pages and games load quickly, with no lags, glitches, or interruptions to disrupt the experience. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
Purchasing Gold Coin bundles
You can claim virtual currency for free in several ways, but you also have the option to purchase bundles of Gold Coins - one of the two currencies explained in
what are sweeps Gold Coins. Most bundles of Gold Coins at Lucky Stake include free Sweeps Coins as a bonus. Prices start at just $1.99 and go up to $999.99, so there’s something for every budget.
Here’s the full list of Gold Coin bundles available:

Purchasing a bundle of Gold Coins is quick and easy. Just log in, click “Get Coins,” choose your preferred option, and complete the payment. As soon as your transaction is successful, the Gold Coins - and any bonus Sweeps Coins - will be credited to your account instantly.
Redeeming Sweeps Coins for prizes
As we mentioned earlier in this Lucky Stake review, you can redeem eligible Sweeps Coins winnings for virtual prepaid cards - but only after meeting certain requirements:
- 1x playthrough:
You’ve got to play through your Sweeps Coins at least once. Only SC winnings from gameplay are eligible for redemption.
- Minimum redemption:
You need to rack up at least 100 SC in winnings from gameplay before you can submit a redemption request.
Once you’ve met those requirements, head over to the “Redeem” section and submit a request. When your request is accepted, you’ll get the virtual prepaid card details (number, expiration date, CVV) via email. Upon checking out, you can complete the process with any regular card, and you’ll get the details in just a few hours, but if there’s any issues encountered, it should just be around 24 hours.
Customer support at Lucky Stake
The customer support at Lucky Stake exceeded our expectations. Unlike most sweepstakes casinos that only provide email support, Lucky Stake also offers live chat - and it’s easily one of the best we’ve tested.
What makes their live chat stand out is its reliability and usability: it’s available 24/7, connects you with real humans almost instantly, and allows you to attach files and screenshots.
Another standout feature is the ability to open the live chat in a separate window on a desktop. This means the conversation stays visible in the corner of your screen while you switch tabs or apps, making it easy to multitask.
Beyond email and live chat, Lucky Stake also has a help center with answers to common questions. That said, some of the information there is outdated - for instance, it still mentions live casino games, which are no longer available on the site.
Is Lucky Stake legit?
During our Lucky Stake review, we carefully examined all the legal documentation, including the Sweepstakes Rules, Terms and Conditions, and Privacy Policy.
Everything was transparent and clearly explained - covering eligibility requirements, the free alternative method of entry, how Sweeps Coins are obtained and redeemed, and how your data is collected and handled responsibly.
Additionally, Lucky Stake utilizes advanced security measures such as SSL encryption to protect transactions and firewalls to keep sensitive data safe from unauthorized access.
In short, Lucky Stake is a legitimate, trustworthy sweepstakes casino that you can feel confident using.

Lucky Stake review - a sweepstakes casino worth the try
Despite being new to the sweepstakes casino scene, Lucky Stake already shows it can compete with larger, more established brands. Its standout features include a massive library of 1,000+ slots, a clean and intuitive design, generous welcome offers, and highly reliable 24/7 live chat support.
On top of that, you’ll find daily rewards, special Gold Coin bundle offers, and fair Sweeps Coin redemption requirements. The main drawback is that table games and live dealer options are no longer available. If you’re mostly into slots, though, Lucky Stake is tough to beat. If you’d like to give it a try, signing up through the link on this page will get you 7,500 Gold Coins and 2.5 Sweeps Coins for free.
