You won’t find the Kickr app in the App Store or Google Play. It’s not a typical native app, it’s a web app (technically PWA), which means it runs right in your browser. Just hit the site and go.
In this guide, we’re walking through what the Kickr mobile app is (and isn’t), how to play on iPhone or Android, what to expect with login bonuses and Bucks prize redemptions, and some quirks you’ll want to know upfront. Especially if you’ve only used native apps before. Stick with us to find out more.
There’s no Play Store or App Store version of Kickr. It’s a browser-based site that acts like an app once it’s running. This type of setup is called a PWA (Progressive Web App), and it’s what Kickr uses across all mobile devices.
When you access Kickr in your phone browser (we’ve tried both Chrome and Safari), you’ll notice the layout shifts nicely for smaller screens. All the social sportsbook and sweepstakes casino features are available, and you can even add it to your home screen for an app-like icon.
You don’t need to install anything, but the steps are slightly different depending on your phone.
You’ll now see a Kickr icon on your home screen. It opens in full screen, like any regular app.
That’s it, it works just like any other mobile app, without updates or downloads.
Kickr is a sweepstakes site, not a real-money sportsbook, as mentioned in our Kickr guide. That means there are some unique rules about who can join and how it works.
You’ve got to be 21 or older to sign up and play. Kickr also runs identity checks (KYC) before you can redeem any prizes after, and those include things like your SSN, a valid ID, and proof of address if needed. You’ll also need to be in a permitted U.S. state. Kickr uses geolocation, and VPNs are against the rules. If they detect one, or if you're logging in from a restricted location, your account could be flagged or blocked. This all means that Kickr is legit.
At the time of writing, Kickr Sportsbook (social sports picks) is not available in AL, GA, HI, ID, IN, IA, KY, MD, MI, MN, MS, MT, NV, OH, SC, and WA.
Kickr Casino (sweepstakes-style games) is not available in ID, MI, MT, and WA.
Because access varies between the social sportsbook and the sweepstakes casino, it’s best to check in-app or try signing up directly at Kickr to confirm if it works in your state.
Kickr runs on a sweepstakes model, so you're never required to pay to get started. Everything in the app is built to give you access to games from day one, and there are multiple ways to collect Bits and Bucks just by showing up.
Right after registering and completing the basic verification steps, Kickr credits your account with 150,000 Bits and 4 Bucks. This happens automatically, there’s no need to hunt down a promo code or fill out a separate form. As long as you’ve verified your account properly, those funds will appear in your dashboard straight away. Compared to other top social sportsbooks, this offer is above average.
Kickr uses a drip system to deliver free Bits and Bucks throughout the day. Once you're signed in, your first reward lands just two minutes later. After that, new rewards unlock every 30 minutes, offering more Bits and occasionally Bucks. If you come back the next day, you’ll also unlock a larger bonus just for logging in. 5,000 Bits and somewhere between 0.10 and 1 Bucks, depending on your account activity. All of this is managed from your main dashboard, so it’s easy to keep track of what’s available.
Kickr also offers a mail-in option to claim Bucks. You’ll first need to generate a unique sweepstakes code inside the app, but only if you currently have fewer than 10 unplayed Bucks in your balance. After that, write out the required statement by hand on a 3x5 index card using black ink, and send it to the address provided in Kickr’s Help Center. It’s not a fast method, but it’s fully legitimate. Once your letter is received and approved, Bucks will be added to your account.
Kickr offers two main things. Social sportsbook contests and sweepstakes-style casino games.
These work like simplified pick'em games. Instead of odds or spreads, you’re given a few selections (e.g. “Will Mahomes throw 3+ TDs?”), and you enter using Bits or Bucks.
The contests are mobile-friendly and update in real-time after games settle. If you win with Bucks, that’s how you build up your redeemable Bucks balance.
Kickr also has a sweepstakes casino section with slots and other games. These use the same virtual currency system. If you're in a permitted state, both social sportsbook and sweepstakes casino features are available from the same app.
Before you can redeem anything from the Kickr app, you’ll need to go through full identity verification. Kickr uses a third-party service called Persona for this step. It’s a one-time process but it’s required before any Bucks become redeemable.
Before you can redeem anything, Kickr requires ID verification through Persona. You’ll need to upload a valid ID, take a short video selfie, and enter your SSN details. Proof of address may be asked for if your ID doesn’t show it. None of this info is stored by Kickr, it’s handled by Persona.
You can’t redeem Bucks until they’ve been used in a contest. Once you play with them and win, those winnings become Redeemable Bucks and show up in your Wallet. You’ll also need at least 50 eligible Bucks before you can redeem them for a gift card.
There are two Kickr Bucks redemption methods. Gift cards through eGifter, or cash to your bank via MassPay. Gift cards arrive fast, usually within minutes of approval. Bank transfers take around 1–3 business days.
| Virtual Currency | What It’s For | How You Get It | Can You Redeem It? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bits | Free-play contests and testing picks | Daily logins, timers, giveaways | No — just for fun/play |
| Bucks | Prize-eligible contests (sweepstakes) | Welcome bonus, mail-ins, referrals | Yes — after relevant requirements are met |
Issues can happen, especially on mobile. Here’s what’s worked for us.
If the app’s not loading properly, the first thing to check is whether you’re running a VPN. Kickr blocks access if one’s detected. Clearing your browser cache often fixes things, or try switching browsers entirely. You’ll also want to make sure location services are turned on, since Kickr needs to confirm where you are.
If your password reset isn’t working, it might be because you signed up using Google. In that case, the "Continue with Google" button is your way back in. Passwords don’t apply to Google-linked accounts. Still stuck? Head to the Help Center and submit a request. They usually reply within a day.
Sometimes the drips or daily login rewards don’t appear right away. Refreshing the dashboard usually helps. If that doesn’t do it, try logging in from a different browser. Also, check your Bucks balance. If you’ve got 10 or more unplayed Bucks, the app can block you from generating new mail-in codes. That can affect how new bonuses show up.
The Kickr “app” might not look like what you’re used to, but it gets the job done. Once you’ve added it to your home screen, it works like any other top social sportsbook app, minus the updates and install issues.
We’ve used it daily for testing picks, grabbing free Bucks from login bonuses, and trying out Bucks redemption paths. At no point did we miss having a dedicated Kickr app; the website and PWA version worked perfectly. You can try them out yourself by using the links on this page.
Not exactly. Kickr runs as a mobile-friendly web app (PWA), so you access it through your browser (Safari or Chrome). You can add it to your home screen for an app-like feel, but there’s nothing to install from the store.
Just head to Kickr in your mobile browser. From there, you can sign in or create an account. It works best on updated versions of Chrome or Safari.
When you register and verify, Kickr drops 150,000 Bits and 4 Bucks into your account. No code needed, it happens automatically.
You can enter sports pick’em contests using Bits or Bucks, track rewards, join giveaways, and redeem Bucks for prizes, all straight from your phone. It’s fully functional without needing a download.
Check that you’re not using a VPN, clear your browser cache, and make sure location access is on. If you’re still stuck, hit up the Help Center, they usually reply within 24 hours.
