There is always some confusion about BigPirate sweepstakes casino and how it operates. Some individuals think that BigPirate real-money gaming is available, but in fact, this isn't an option on the site. What you get is a free play service.
In this guide, we'll explain everything you need to know about BigPirate, how it works, and why you shouldn't look at it as a real money site. We'll also introduce the bonuses you can claim on BigPirate, and how to set up your account. Setting up an account isn't a problem, and you'll get a welcome bonus for doing so.
Is BigPirate a real money site?
BigPirate isn't a traditional online casino where you can play for real money. So, what does it offer? It runs on the sweepstakes gaming model. Well, that's cool, but what does that even mean?
You see, at sweepstakes casinos, you can play games for free using virtual currencies. BigPirate offers these virtual currencies for free, which is what keeps the site active. You can get Gold Coins (GC), Diamonds (the equivalent of Sweeps Coins, or SC), and Rum to perform various actions on the site. However, while you won't get to use real money to play games, you can use real money for optional GC purchases.
The most common virtual currency you'll find is the Gold Coin. With these, you get to play games for free, but there is really no additional benefit. You get them through promotions or from optional GC purchases.
Diamonds also let you play games, and when you get a set amount, you'll have the option to redeem them for cash prizes. This is what makes them so important at the sweepstakes casino, and also why you only get them through promotions.
Rum is also a virtual currency, but it is exclusive to BigPirate. You can spend it to try out the BigPirate Adventure game, which is like a bonus game.

Bonuses that you can claim as an existing member on BigPirate
Pros and Cons
- Regular promotions for virtual currency
- No need for bonus codes
- Multiple daily rewards for more bonuses
- No downloadable mobile app
The
BigPirate bonuses for existing players
are among the main reasons real money isn't necessary on the site. They're basically there to constantly provide free GC and SC to BigPirate members. All you have to do is find a bonus that matches your playstyle and opt in to get the reward. Some of these don't even need you to opt in. Just log in, and the bonus will be ready for you to claim. Right now, there are many awesome offers on the site, and these are some of them:
Everyone knows about the daily login rewards at sweepstakes casinos. At BigPirate, you get to claim these every 24 hours, and you get 10,000 GC and 1 Rum from this offer.
These are daily activities you can complete for rewards at BigPirate. It's always a good idea to complete the easiest activities first before trying the harder ones. BigPirate usually has daily and weekly challenges, so don't forget to check what's available on both.
BigPirate always runs tournaments where you can compete against other members. If you come out on top, you'll be in for a share of the tournament prize pool, and we've seen a few with a 2,500 SC prize pool.
Thinking of getting others to join you while playing the BigPirate Adventure? Then that's great, because BigPirate will also reward you for this action. Just be sure to get your friends to use your link or code if you don't want to lose your
BigPirate referral bonus.
This is another daily login bonus on the site, but you can only find it in the BigPirate Adventure section. From this bonus, you can get free spins on specific games, which is still better than nothing.
Diamond redemptions: Does BigPirate pay real money?
What makes you happy at sweepstakes casinos? Is it the games or the bonuses that let you play for free? If everyone is being honest, it's the Diamond (or SC) redemptions that make these sites worth our time. Which is why people often ask, does BigPirate pay real money?
BigPirate doesn't pay real money, but it offers a Diamond redemption, which is slightly better. So, how do these redemptions work? At BigPirate, Diamond redemptions allow you to redeem your played-through Diamonds for cash prizes.
At BigPirate, you can play games in the promotional play mode using your Diamonds. When you land a multiplier in a game, the sweepstakes casino recognizes the Diamonds you get from it as redeemable, but why? Well, that's because playing a game with your free Diamonds once completes the 1x playthrough requirement set by the operator. At BigPirate, there is a 50 Diamond minimum redemption requirement.
Meeting the minimum redemption requirement will allow you to request a Diamond redemption. You must have a verified account, and BigPirate may also request additional verification to process your request.
Conclusion: Nothing like your traditional casinos
One thing you must always remember when you visit BigPirate is that you're only able to play its games using virtual currencies. The option to play with real money isn't available, so don't expect real money while playing games on the site. However, you can redeem your Diamonds for cash prizes, which is what matters. To give you more opportunities to redeem, BigPirate offers several promotions through which you can get free Diamonds. You can then use the Diamonds playing any game of your choice at the sweepstakes casino.
Want to see everything for yourself? Then set up an account on BigPirate. The operator offers a welcome bonus of 20,000 GC, 2 Diamonds, and 2 Rums, which you can use to get started on the site.
Up to 150% Extra: 500K GC + 50 Free SC
