How to create and edit builds in Deadlock: Complete guide

In Deadlock, every hero has a default build, but after even a short amount of playtime, you will start to realize that utilizing community builds and the build creator is a must in order to improve at the game. So, here is a quick guide to creating and editing builds in Deadlock, to make all of that as simple as possible.

How to edit and create builds in Deadlock

To edit or create your own build in Deadlock, players will need to follow these few simple steps, all of which can be accessed from the game’s main menu.

1. Load into Deadlock and navigate to the Heroes tab
2. Select which hero you would like to create or edit a build for
3. Once on their hero screen, select the Builds button in the top left of the screen
4. Here, you will be able to check out Public/Community builds, the default build for each hero, and any builds you have previously made
5. We recommend finding a Public build that you find interesting, then choosing the Copy & Edit button in the bottom left
6. After that, you will be able to edit a unique copy of that build, swapping items in and out by selecting them in the Shop or dragging them out of the build screen if trying to remove them
7. You can also adjust the order in which the game alerts you to upgrade abilities in the bottom left corner

You can also access this in the Hero Lab in case you want to see how the build looks fully optimized.

The best way to get comfortable is to hop in and try just messing around with different build layouts, adding text to different sections, and making each build truly your own.
