There’s a new hero class heading to Hearthstone, and it is one many longtime players will be familiar with. On Tuesday November 1, Hearthstone announced it’s newest expansion March of the Lich King. In the new expansion is a new hero class, new cards, new keywords and new cosmetics for players to collect. The great news is that players won’t have to wait long for the new Hearthstone content. The March of the Lich King release date is set for December 6.
In just under a month’s time, players will get a chance to play as a Death Knight. Sporting the new hero power “Ghoul Charge”, the Death Knight aims to send out waves of undead minions to wipe out the competition. In fact, “Undead” is now an official minion type that can be combined with previous minion types to give certain cards double identity.
The new hero class has unique play patterns thanks to its additional resource called “Corpse”. As friendly minions die, Corpses pile up to help cast cards later in the game. Along with the new passive resource, Death Knight’s have deck building restrictions thanks to a new mechanic called “Runes”. A DK deck can have a certain number of Runes that allow it to contain different cards, based on the cards Rune requirement.
