Online table games come in a variety of formats, from classics like Roulette, Baccarat, and Blackjack online to modern digital versions with additional settings and gameplay options. Whilst the core rules often stay the same, many games now include built-in features that make them easier to use, more accessible, or give you more control over how you play.
Browsing online table games and trying to decide which one to choose? Here are a few features worth looking for that can help you get more familiar with the format and layout.
Customisable betting limits
Most online table games show a range of minimum and maximum bets. Games with adjustable stake ranges make it easier to pick a table that matches your budget. Some providers also offer low-stakes tables and high-limit tables separately, so you can choose one that fits your preferences.
Tables typically display the betting limits clearly at the start, and many platforms let you filter games based on these limits before entering.
Auto and quick play
For digital versions of table games (not live dealer formats), auto-play and quick play features can be handy tools. Auto-play lets you set a number of rounds to play automatically based on your current stake and bet type. Quick play speeds up animations and card movements, cutting down wait times between rounds.
These features are completely optional and come with built-in stop conditions or limits, which you can adjust in the settings.
Multi-hand/table play
Some Blackjack and Poker games offer the option to play multiple hands at once. This is known as multi-hand play. It allows you to place several separate hands in the same round, following the same rules for each.
On some platforms, particularly those that host live dealer games, you may also be able to switch between tables or play more than one game at the same time. This feature can be handy if you prefer a faster pace or having different games open.
Side bets
Many modern table games offer additional bet types beyond the main rules. In Blackjack, for example, you might see side bets like Perfect Pairs or 21+3. In Baccarat, optional bets might include Player Pair or Banker Pair.
These features are clearly marked and aren’t required to play the base game. They’re included to provide extra variety, and their rules are explained in the game’s information section.
Visual settings
Online table games often include options to adjust the look and feel of the interface. You may be able to change table colours, sound settings, card styles, or even the camera angle in some live dealer games.
Whilst these don’t affect gameplay, they can make it more comfortable to follow each round. Some platforms also support dark mode or simplified views for mobile play.
Help menus and game info
An often-overlooked feature is the in-game help menu. This section provides clear explanations of the game rules, payout structures, side bet details, and any variations that apply to the specific table you’re on.
Before starting a new game, it’s worth checking this section to understand how the version you’re playing might differ from others. You’ll find information on betting options, hand rankings (for card games), and any special rules that might apply.
