Anby Demara Build Guide: W-Engines, Drive Discs, and Teams

When it comes to building a reliable Stun agent in Zenless Zone Zero, the character Anby Demara remains a solid choice, especially for players who are looking for an accessible character. However, to get the best results out of her takes more than just equipping a powerful W-Engine. As a free A-Rank Electric character, Anby excels at building up Daze, creating openings for damage dealers to unleash attacks. Considering the importance of this character, this content here breaks down her combat combos, role, team compositions, stat priorities, and equipment choices, keeping focus on what works well in actual combat instead of chasing perfect theoretical stats.

Whether you are trying to improve her current build or are trying to use Anby for the first time, all these tips below will help you get more out of her. So, let us go ahead and take a closer look to find out what works.

Anby Demara’s Role, Kit and Limitations

The Anby Demara character guide offers a closer look at her role as a Stun agent in Zenless Zone Zero. Even though her kit is quite straightforward, using her effectively is all about knowing which of her attacks build Daze the fastest and when you can use them. Anby’s main job is to push her enemies towards a stun state. It helps create opportunities for better attacks and for the Anomaly Agents to deal damage. As for her Electric Attribute, it too makes her useful against enemies with electric weaknesses.

Anby carries 118 base Impact at level 60. Her Additional Ability restores around 7.2 Energy as her Dodge Counter connects, provided the team is able to meet the matching Attribute or the Faction need. Anby’s Core Passive, her Fluctuating Voltage, etc., increases Daze by around 32% as she uses specific attacks like Ex Special Attack, Thunderbolt, and Special Attack, which follows the third hit of her Basic Attack. At level 12, her Ex Special Attack, Lightning Bolt, has a 722.7% Daze multiplier, as compared to 213.9% for Thunderbolt. The difference is what makes her attack important when one is trying to stun enemies quickly.

But wait, there is also some limitation of Any Demara- she provides very little support when it comes to moving beyond Daze buildup. She offers no party buffs/enemy debuffs, which means her value comes through creating openings and not boosting teammates herself. Players who wish for a straightforward and dependable Stun agent could still receive a lot from her. Now, she might not carry the team on her own, but she does help main damage dealers make the most of each stun window.

W-Engines for Anby Demara and Her Combat

Choosing a right W-Engine for the character comes down to how a player or you want to improve Anby’s Daze build-up, energy management, and impact. The Restraint here is a strong choice for her attack-focused play. It boosts her Basic Attack damage and also her Daze by around 6% per stack (up to 5 stacks). It even increases impact, making it an amazing fit for the role of Anby as a Stun agent. As she is reliant heavily upon her Basic Attack chain, all these bonuses complement her combat rotation.

Anby’s Hellfire Gears remains worth considering- especially if Energy generation remains a recurring concern you face. It helps to increase Energy Regen by around 0.6 per second, with Anby being off-field. It even boosts her Impact after the EX special attacks. Overall, the build’s focus is more on Daze buildup, while The Restrained here improves stun and damage potential.

For a way more accessible choice, Steam Oven offers Energy Regen, increasing Impact as per accumulated energy. Here, every 10 energy brings in around 2% Impact, stacking up to 8 times. Precious Fossilized Core further remains a good alternative here, adding 10 to 20% Daze against enemies above some HP thresholds- though the value here decreases as her health continues to drop.

Battery Mark II is further worth considering here for Anby as it boosts Electric DMG, improving Energy Generation Rate after the Dodge Counters or the Assist Attacks. It makes it relevant if Anby benefits from a conditional Energy Generation Rate bonus through M6. Ultimately, the best choice herein is dependent on the energy needs as well as preferred combat rotation.

Best Drive Discs for Anby Demara to Improve Her Stun Potential

Drive Disc setup must focus on building Daze quicker while giving her enough energy to use EX Special Attacks quite often. For this approach, Shockstar Disco is a perfect fit. It is a two-piece effect that increases Impact by around 6%, while a four-piece bonus makes Basic, Special, and Dash Attacks, along with Dodge Counters, inflict around 20% more Daze on the main target. To pair it with Swing Jazz’s 2 pieces adds Energy Regen. It helps Anby use her EX Special Attack way more frequently. More energy here means way more opportunities for using EX Specials, which could help Anby stun her enemies sooner.

King of the Summit here offers another 4-piece choice. As Anby uses Ex Special Attack/Chain Attack like a stun character, it increases the squad’s CRIT DMG by approximately 15%, rising to 30%- if her CRIT Rate reaches approx. 50%. It offers her a means to support her teammates way beyond just building Daze.

For main stats, it is recommended to give priority to Impact (Disc 6), Electric DMG (Disc 5), and CRIT DMG/CRIT Rate (Disc 4). However, for the substats, the main focus must be on CRIT Rate, especially if you have chosen King of the Summit, aiming for around 50%. DMG, CRIT, PEN, and ATK%- all of them are useful priorities. Impact here remains quite central to the role of Anby, to ensure it remains an important part of her build.

Best Teams for Anby Demara’s Electric Damage and the F2P Players

Anby, as a character, fits in varied team compositions, but the squads that are built around Electric Damage make good use of her Stun capabilities. Her Additional Ability further needs matching faction or attribute conditions. So, to pair her with Cunning Hares or Electric teammates will help activate the Energy restoration.

A good option here is a mono-Electric team which features Asaba Harumasa, Astra Yao, and Anby with Plugboo like Bangboo. Anby builds Daze for stunning enemies, letting Harumasa deal more damage, while Astra boosts the overall damage output of the team. Plugboo too works here well with Electric-focused squads. If you by any chance have other Electric agents, ensure you consider including Seed or Cissia. Anby’s M4, Conducting Charge, offers Energy recovery for the off-field Electric agents, making the upgrade quite useful within mono-Electric teams.

However, if looking for a F2P setup that is accessible, try Anby, Nicole, and Billy Kid with Electroboo and Amillion. Nicole’s DEF reduction and crowd control, complement sustained damages by Billy. Though the team does not top leaderboards, they handle things reliably.

Another amazing option here is the Grace Howard hypercarry team with Rina and Anby, using Plugboo. Grace here applies Shock value quickly. Anby stuns enemies. Rina extends Shock reduction. It makes the trio perfect for disorder-focused setups. For a Zhu Yuan team, make sure to pair her with Nicole and Anby, right alongside Resonaboo. Benefits are received by Zhu Yuan for attacking the stunned enemies, while Nicole offers some additional Ether synergy. If choosing Bangboo, Plugboo could be easier to activate than Electroboo due to its need for Additional Ability.

Either choice could work here, as per a player’s team composition.

Final Verdict: Is Anby Demara a Good Choice?

Well, not all Stun agents require elaborate setup for contributing to the team, and Anby here is a perfect example of that. Her effectiveness is totally dependent upon how well you are able to manage her Energy, time all her EX Special Attacks, and create some openings for the main damage dealer. To master all these mechanics is way more useful than just equipping rare gear available.

For Anby’s equipment, Shockstar Disco and The Restrained are worth it, while Steam Oven offers a perfect alternative to players in need for better Energy management. As for her team composition, it could change as per the roster, with the Electric-focused lineups and Anby-Billy-Nicole combo serving varied needs.

Before you make any heavy investment, it is advised to look at which agents you really own and what your current team lacks. By any chance, if you need someone who is able to build Daze and set up the attacks for a damage dealer, Anby can fill this role without truly demanding any complicated playstyle. Her value lies in how well she fits your roster, not just the strength of her build individually.
