After the horrific release that was WWE 2K20 and a year’s absence from the series, 2K along with developer Visual Concepts promise fans the most realistic looking, hardest-hitting WWE gaming experience yet. That experience is WWE 2K22.
The launch of WWE 2K20 has made a notorious name for itself not only amongst traditional fans of the WWE game series but also amongst fans of the 2K sports series. WWE 2K20 was a broken installment filled with glitches, bugs, and many technical issues. The game performed poorly across all platforms making it the biggest downgrade and disappointment in the series of all time. On April 23, 2020, WWE stated that 2K Games would not be releasing the expected WWE 2K21 this year.
After a 2-year hiatus, WWE 2K makes a return with WWE 2K22. With this new installment, gamers are promised an assortment of new features, such as a redesigned gameplay element, MyGM game mode, and more. The game is set to launch with a roster of 163 superstars in the base game and 168 for nWo 4-Life Edition owners. There are more wrestlers set to be added post-launch as DLC such as rapper Machine Gun Kelley. Has WWE 2K22 really learned from past mistakes?
