
As someone whom Team Xbox has sadly betrayed, I, for one, am excited for the release of Valve’s Steam Machine. It’s more optimized for gamers who currently don’t possess a PC setup, or those who prefer the comfort of their living room for gaming, like me. However, with a feature as great as this one, are we also sacrificing certain PC qualities? For instance, what about PC modifications? Will the Steam Machine be upgradable?
So the answer to this question is ultimately yes, but to an extent. Only the SSD and RAM can be upgraded; the CPU and GPU are non-negotiable. It’s nice to know that storage can be upgraded, but the trade-off is that core performance can’t be improved.
