Backyard Football 1999 has made its way to Steam and Mobile with more future releases on the way. Playground Productions has revived the franchise and with it, has been renewing more than just the games. The MLB was on board with both Backyard Baseball games, but where are the NFL Teams in Backyard Football 1999 Steam & Mobile Editions?
Unfortunately, it looks as though there will be no NFL Teams in Backyard Football 1999 on Steam or Mobile. At least, not at launch.
There is a chance that they could get added in the future but as of now, it looks as though the NFL did not decide to give Playground Productions the right to use its logo or the team’s logos.
This is a bit of a surprise. Mainly due to the fact that the MLB was on board and now Backyard Baseball is doing a tour to MLB stadiums. Many had hoped that with the announcement of Backyard Football’s release that not only would the players find their way back into the game but the teams as well.

Most likely, the reasoning behind the NFL not being involved would be due to the deal that was offered. Because Playground Productions is the new owner, they have apparently had to renegotiate with everyone. From the players to the NFL itself, they are trying to get everyone on board.
We here at The Game Haus noticed this change right away. We did reach out for comment and were told that they would reach out later. We did not follow up but there was no official reasoning given as of yet. There is a good chance that they are working with someone else to release the story and once that comes out, we will make sure to link it here.
Until then, enjoy the rerelease of Backyard Football 1999 on Steam and Mobile with the hopes of even more on the way soon from the iconic franchise.
