When will Deadlock add new heroes? Major Update predictions

Deadlock continues in early access, but having made a Major Update to the game’s shop and map, the question has now become, “When will Deadlock add new heroes?”

Let’s take a look at our best guess, based on some speculation and what may be an early forming pattern for Deadlock Major Updates. Who knows, an Open Beta may even soon be in the cards.

Deadlock new heroes could release in August or September

Deadlock has had several new heroes leak since an image was shared on Deathy’s stream on May 1, 2025. Since then, we have had a plethora of leaks, showing off new hero ultimates, art reworks, and so much more, including some updates from developers.

This leads us to believe we could get a Deadlock Open Beta or at least a significant Major Update in August or September.

In the videos linked in the timeline below, I go through the updates that devs have said are planned to come in “some time,” along with a few leaks that may indicate the arrival of some new heroes in Deadlock.

• February 25: Map Major Update
• May 1: Deathy leak shows at least 7 new heroes
• May 8: Major Shop Update
• June 11: New hero “Frank” shown using ultimate ability
• June 12: Viscous character model changes leaked
• June 26: Deadlock Fight Night goes on hiatus
• July 24: Yoshi update on next major patch
• July 29: Balance patch
• July 30: Hero Roster & Hero Select screen leaks
