Analysis
That’s all for the release date! The rest of the article just talks about excitement over the game, while analyzing small portions. So for those uninterested, feel free to click away. Anyway, with Xenoblade Chronciles 3 release date falling on July 29, 2022, that’s honestly a lot sooner than expected. The speculated release date fell more towards the latter half of 2022, presumably around September.
The third entry brings mechs, which were actually already seen in Xenoblade Chronicles X. It was one of the best features of the Wii U installment, and therefore stands as a very welcome addition in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Apparently, “you can take that form via a strong desire or emotion.” It’s unclear exactly how players enter this form, but it’s likely linked to some sort of gauge that requires specific conditions to fill up. The Xenoblade Chronicles games always love playing with their meters and refill rates.
In regards to gameplay, a surprising amount revealed. From a first look at the submenus, it appears that the game takes larger inspiration from Xenoblade Chronciles 2 than 1. After all, the button layout at the bottom right is taken almost directly from 2. But an interesting note is that at the top left, there are five different characters (six when counting Eunie and Taion). That’s far more than the previous installments, possibly pointing towards larger scale combat.
In conclusion
For Xenoblade Chronicles fans, the time is soon to come. After a long wait, the third main installment in the series debuts on July 29, 2022. So mark those calendars, save up the necessary money, and get ready for what is sure to be another classic JRPG installment!
