What Is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game Release Date?

Publish Date: August 13, 2023

Gamers can run but can’t hide from the newest asymmetrical horror title about to hit the market. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre release date is just around the corner and players will need all the info they can get to prepare themselves against Leatherface and the whole family. Here’s everything players will need to know before the Texas Chainsaw Massacre game releases on August 18.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre Game

While gamers can be seen comparing the Texas Chainsaw game to the popular asymmetrical horror Dead By Daylight, a better comparison to be made is with Friday The 13th The Game as both titles were developed by Gun Interactive.

Just like like with Friday The 13th The Game, players will be separated into two teams, The Victims and The Family. Both teams will have their own abilities and stats to help them achieve their goals.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre Victims

All Victims will have their attributes broken into five separate categories while still keeping their own special abilities to keep them all individually unique. The five attributes are Toughness, Endurance, Strength, Proficiency, and Stealth

Toughness: Toughness has two roles to play in the Chainsaw Massacre title. Sustaining more damage before becoming incapacitated, and shortening the player’s recovery time.

Endurance: Contributing not only to overall stamina characters with a higher endurance can have a much faster stamina regeneration rate compared to other characters.

Strength: Strength is different than toughness as with Strength players can alter the stun effect duration for actions such as sneak attacks, grappling in close encounters, and bursting out of hiding spots. A higher strength stat also can better help with escaping restraints, opening crawl spaces, and turning off generators

Proficiency: Higher Proficiency makes picking locks much easier. The lower the proficiency the harder the task is.

Stealth: Players with higher stealth can perform actions generating less noise.

As mentioned previously victims all have their own special perks making them unique to players and they have their own playstyle.

The Victims

Connie

  • Connie’s Focused Ability allows her to pick a lock much faster at the cost of stamina and her Family proximity warnings, without consuming the unlock tool.

Sonny

  • Equipped with the Heightened Sense Ability Sonny has a situational awareness buff, allowing him to detect noise made by anyone nearby, pinpointing their exact location and tracking their movements.

Julie

  • Ultimate Escape allows Julie to not be tracked by the Family while also getting significantly reduced stamina drain while sprinting for a short time.

Leland

  • Leland comes with the Life Saver Ability allowing them to bump charge a Family member, stunning them.

Ana

  • With Pain is Nothing, Ana significantly reduces the damage she’ll take from attacks and falls, like jumping out windows. Her additional buff is a temporary immunity to the effects of any poison.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre Family

The Victims aren’t the only ones equipped with skills. The Family is prepared to make sure the victims become, well victims. Just like their prey, the Family has their own category of attributes along with their unique perks. First, let’s go over the attributes.

Savagery: This affects the amount of damage melee hits can deal.

Harvesting: Determines the amount of blood gained for Grandpa when interacting with Victims. Hit and grapple the Victms and perform executions to fill up on blood hits. (Does not affect the amount of blood gained from buckets around the map.)

Endurance: Affects the stamina drain and recharge rate of melee strikes and mobility.

With the attributes out of the way, let’s meet the Family

The Family

The Cook: SEEK

  • The Seek Ability allows the Cook to lean in and listen carefully to any strange sounds he might hear around the map. If a sound is detected, he can focus in on it, revealing the location of the Victim unfortunate enough to be making the most noise.

Sissy: BANE

  • Sissy can craft poisons from local plants and then blow the powder in the faces of Victims or use them to contaminate items around the map.

The Hitchhiker: TRAP

  • The Hitchhiker has the ability to place traps around the map that alert him when an unsuspecting Victim steps in.

Johnny: HUNT

  • Being a stalker and predator Johnny can see and track the fresh footsteps of Victims around the map.

Leatherface: MAIM

  • Leather is a unique family member that can utilize their chainsaw in a variety of ways but mainly to hack and slash at victims.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre releases for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows on August 18
