Its outta here! Backyard Sports are back and ready to take up even more of your time. So far, a few older games have been released but there are still many that need to make their way to Steam. With that, here is what we know about the Backyard Baseball 2001 Steam Release Date.
The official Backyard Baseball 2001 Steam Release Date will be July 8, 2025.
What is interesting is that Backyard Baseball 1997 and Backyard Soccer 1998 were released a little over a month apart at the end of 2024. Since then, we have been in a bit of a dry spell.
Many fans thought that they were going in order. Instead, it looks as though Football will likely be releasing closer to the NFL season. This release is certainly a surprising one but definitely one that fans are going to be excited about. Pros are coming back, although three of them did not agree to get released into the game. Also this will be coming out right around the All-Star Break, which feels like the perfect time for this absolute classic to find its way into new and old hands.

There have been teasers and rumors of new games coming out ever since Playground Productions bought the rights to the franchise.
They may not be saying it directly, but it feels like they are working on new games as these older ones find their way to Steam. As they work their way through getting player and team rights, the obstacles will continue to go down, one by one. After that, we should expect new versions of the classic games to release even as early as 2026.
