The best offensive plays and formations in College Football 26

Publish Date: August 7, 2025

Finding a handful of solid offensive plays and formations in College Football 26 can make all the difference. So, lucky for you, we have a few of the best standouts that we have tried and tested since the game’s launch. Here they are!

Best offensive plays and formations in College Football 26

If you want to try these best plays and formations for yourself, they will all be coming from the Oregon State Playbook, which is a Power Spread archetype. I have favorited 70 plays from this playbook, but we’ll take a look at a handful of my top choices here.

Mesh Traffic – Gun Bunch X Nasty // X Close HB Toss – Gun Wing Pair

All of the plays on this screen are ones I like, but Mesh Traffic in the Gun Bunch X Nasty formation is one I use time and time again. Look for the Y for an easy checkdown, or A over the top.

X Close HB Toss is a staple for me, as it gets my runners to the outside and has plenty of solid blockers. It’s not my #1 run play, but it is a favorite.

Crack Toss – Gun Bunch Str Nasty // Dagger Whip – Gun Y Off Trips Nasty // Mtn Mesh Rail – Gun Y Off Trio Close

I love all of these plays. Crack Toss is my most consistent run play, for an average of 12.6 yards on 38 calls. Run it to an open side of the field and get outside.

On Dagger Whip, look for the RB on the dig route, who is almost always open. The Mesh Rail is also a fun subversion of a normal mesh, where I look to go long first.

Drive HB Under & Dagger – Gun Bunch X Nasty

Gun Bunch X Nasty is my absolute favorite offensive formation in College Football 26. Drive HB Under has tons of great options, Dagger is a solid play, and there are many others in this set as well, making it great for running Hurry Up.

Honorable mentions – various formations and plays

All in all, I like to look for pass or run plays with good spacing, options at multiple levels, and easy check-downs. For me, its about limiting turnovers, but still putting myself in a position to break big plays on occasion.
