Rage quitters in most online PvP games are punished. This prevents people from quitting out of games too frequently, since it often results in bans or even placing these quitters in a separate queue. Unfortunately, Bandai Namco apparently does not care about quitters, since Storm Connections is rampant with them. Storm Connections Rage Quitting is taking over the ranked mode, and literally nothing is stopping them from doing so.

Players can legit quit out of a match at any time by closing their game. This preserves their win streak alongside other win stats. In other words, it doesn’t count as a loss. The game doesn’t even place the player on a ban or a watch — it quite literally just lets players get away with it. For context, this is for when players leave mid match, not during the selection screen.
Whatever the case, in the higher ranks people are absolutely abusing this. By quitting, they’re able to climb the ranked ladder with relative ease. But in doing so, it denies the non-quitting side their ranked and reward points. What results is an incredibly broken system, with no competitive integrity whatsoever. And rather than even addressing this at all, Bandai Namco instead addressed the voice acting and said they’re working on a “fix.”
Storm Connections released in such a poor state. With a lack of online friend invites, no rage quitting punishment, and one of the series’ worst ever modes in the form of History mode, it’s quite frustrating they released this game at a full $60 price point. It’s clearly unfinished and severely flawed. The marketing points for the game haven’t followed through at all. People wanted a better PvP system, but Storm 4 still reigns supreme in this regard.
