Star Rails Seelie banner sales pass a whopping $25 million

According to figures shown in game, the Honkai Star Rails Seelie banner passed $25 million; the figure represents the amount of money spent during the banner.

For many non-players, this figure may surprise. After all, how can a single character release raise that much money for a video game? As for those active in the scene, and familiar with the miHoYo brand, this value makes sense.

Seele’s banner was practically a guaranteed success. Star Rail is still a very new game riding the hype of its initial “free to play” release. In addition, this is the first limited time unit — therefore, as the very first, many players are whaling to acquire Seelie to use for bragging rights. It also doesn’t hurt that Seele was part of the Honkai verse for a long time, preceding even Honkai Impact 3.

The brand new character also has great animations, is super waifu, and serves as a DPS character — which is very valuable during the current meta of Star Rails.

“A little bit premature, the banner is just barely half way done,” one Reddit user stated. In other words, there is still time for this value to continue rising. In fact, it’s likely to spike towards the end, during which players will attempt their last couple rolls while huffing big amounts of copium.

People are beginning to compare the Seelie banner with that of Venti’s from Genshin Impact, which supposedly earned $30 million. Both are the first during their respective game’s release. Many suspect Seelie’s to garner more banner sales than Venti’s. This comparison can also serve as a pretty good figure for measuring the game’s initial success.
