While Ninja Theory’s trailer didn’t focus much on gameplay during the presentation, it showed a more in-depth look into Senua’s character. Ninja Theory stated that the Hellblade sequel takes a much more realistic perspective on Senua’s psychosis. There will be moments where she sees things that may not really be there as she survives through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland. Speaking of Iceland, the team themselves actually traveled there in order to capture the landscape truly and in order to stay true to the visuals through Unreal Engine 5.
“Our hope is to not just create a game that is great to play, but to craft an experience that leaves you thinking and feeling. From our combat gameplay through to our action setpieces, from our cinematic scenes to our puzzle solving, everything is crafted in service of Senua’s journey.“
