Sanbox VR opened a new location in Cincinnati in 2022, which brings a unique experience to the area. The unique gaming that can be done at Sandbox VR in Liberty Township promotes teamwork and fun.
Sandbox VR is a virtual reality gaming company that has several locations across the world. Customers go to the Sandbox and gear up with a headset, vest and motion detectors on their wrists and ankles. Once they are suited up they are put into a game space with their party of up to six people. The players will have had to choose between six different games, with the options being: Deadwood Mansion, Deadwood Valley (Zombie Games), Amber Sky 2088, Star Trek Discovery, Curse of Davey Jones and Unbound Fighting League. At the conclusion of play, the staff will show your party a scoreboard that shows a team score and ranks the players for how many points they earned.
Our party of six decided to play the Deadwood Mansion game. After suiting up with the motion-detecting gear, we were given a choice of guns to use. I was given a shotgun, while others chose different types of weapons. The guns we were given fit our preferences, as mine was big, while others had dual-wield pistols.
After taking our places, which were spread out so we didn’t run into each other, there was a short introduction before zombies started to spawn. Although you could feel the gear and the headset, there was a feeling of total immersement in the experience. Zombies came from all over and it required teamwork to call out where they were coming from and to heal any fallen team members. It created a life-like experience of playing zombie video games on a console at home. According to the staff, we had a pretty good run and were able to finish the experience.
Following the game, we were shown videos of us playing the game, both as our characters and as ourselves. We were also shown our score and the leaderboard to see how we did. They were emailed to us, so that we could continue to enjoy the memories and have bragging rights over one another forever.
Here is the video of us playing the game:

For fans of gaming who can afford it, this experience provides a lot of value. Parties can be hosted for some extra fun. Corporate events can be great as playing the game is a team-building exercise. It can also just be a fun night out with friends. There is a game appropriate for everyone. Sandbox VR is well worth checking out.
