Collecting Shiny Pokemon is one of the greatest past times for players. The various colors serve as fantastic rare goods to show off to friends, warranting the hundreds, if not thousands, of hours spent shiny hunting. But what Pokemon in The Teal Mask DLC are Shiny locked?

All 3 Sinnoh Starters are shiny locked

The egg that Mr. Jacq gives in the beginning of the DLC is shiny locked. And for those who aren’t aware, the egg contains one of the three Sinnoh Starters. So don’t worry about soft resetting to get the perfect shiny starter.

Story Encounters are Shiny Locked

• Bloodmoon Ursaluna
• Areado
• Milotic
• The Loyal Three

  • Munkidora
  • Fezandipiti
  • Okidogi

• Ogrepon

Both Areado and Milotic are shiny locked — at least, for the static encounters in the story. In other words, most, if not all, story encounter Pokemon with cut scenes appear to be Shiny Locked. This includes all four Legendaries included in The Teal Mask DLC.

Shiny Bloodmoon Ursaluna cannot be caught. But there is a way to unlock shiny Bloodmoon Ursaluna in the Pokedex. Apparently if you have a shiny Ursaluna in the default form, the Shiny Bloodmoon Ursaluna will show up as an entry in the Pokedex.

In Conclusion

For those of you Shiny Hunting in The Teal Mask DLC, definitely avoid wasting time on the mentioned Pokemon. They don’t have shiny versions that are catchable within the game, so soft resetting will truly only be a waste of time.
