Hi, trainers. Today is a good day for the most devoted fanatics. As everyone is aware, the player characters do have canon names. For example, Red is the male player character in the gen 1 games. And in later gens, it’s Leaf if they’re a girl. This is the case for the silent protagonist of every generation. In this piece, fans will learn the canon names of the player characters of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
As fans reported on Bulbapedia, GameFreak dropped the names of both player characters. The male character is named Florian, Haruto, in Japanese media. The female’s name is Julianna, or Aoi, in Japanese media. The two’s outfits depend on what version the player purchases. If Scarlet, they wear white and orange school uniforms. If Violet, purple.
What also makes these two interesting is that they are the first protagonists that will not have customization items that are gender-exclusive. This means that a player could make Florian look as feminine as they want and Julianna as masculine or tomboyish as they want. An exciting first for sure.
While no one made a Twitter post about this, Bulbapedia is a site that the most loyal fans work to maintain. And for now, this is the only source the community has to go on. If the Pokemon Company releases contradictory information, the Game Haus will update this piece.
The silent protagonists of Pokemon have varying fates. Red went on to become head of the Battle Tree and a Champion while Lucas and Dawn took on deities and went into the past for god. In this game, players will see if the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player characters will join the greats, or like Brendan and May, give up on their dreams and be forgotten.
