Trainers, the Mismagius Halloween Raid is in full force right now. And though it is only a 5-star raid, having the right Pokémon for the job is important for farming rare candies effectively. This guide will give players 3 top recommendations for taking on Mismagius.
This grass/dark-typed kitty is one of the best counters for Mismagius. Being part dark type, Meowscarada holds a perfect offensive answer for Mismagius’ ghost typing. Not only is it fast, but giving Meowscarada a scope lens can ensure a high rate of critical hits from Night Slash. That, along with a 100% crit Flower Trick, makes it a great asset.
This is a great set for Meowscarada:
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Protean
Item: Scope Lens
Moveset: Night Slash, Flower Trick, Grassy Terrain, Hone Claws
5-star raids are not wholly difficult. By setting up with hone claws, high-level enough Meowscarada can deal a lot of damage on its own. Make sure its tera type is dark instead of grass. This will give Night Slash boosted stab damage. Protean will also turn Meowscarada into a pure dark type, negating its weakness to Mystical Fire.
As Mismagius does not know any fairy-type moves, Spiritomb is the perfect counter to it. Its ghost/dark typing makes fairy its only weakness and it is a powerful Pokémon in its own right–sponsored by Cynthia, one of the most powerful in-game champions. This is the set players should use:
Nature: Quiet
Ability: Infiltrator
Item: Shell Bell
Moveset: Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Will-o-Wisp, Hex
Will-o-Wisp will help allies by neutering Mismagius’ attack with a burn, along with open up the opportunity to follow up with Hex. Other than that, the shell bell will allow Spiritomb to recover any health made by super-effective damage. Use this build wisely, players.
Lastly, Hydreigon is an ideal counter as it resists much of the moves Mismagius would use for stab bonus. Here is a set for it:
Nature: Rash
Ability: Levitate
Item: Shell Bell
Moveset: Dark Pulse, Dragon Pulse, Nasty Plot, Tera Blast
The move variety for Hydreigon pales in comparison to Spiritomb and Meowscarada. However, it can still hold its own against the ghost wizard/witch.
These are 3 of the best picks for the Mismagius Halloween Raid. Granted, this is a small sample size of the many dark types trainers can pick, but they are the best choice to resist this ghost-type opponent. Harness the darkness and battle well, players.
