Scarlet and Violet are around the corner, everyone. The Gen 9 newly open-world Pokemon game has had the community frothing at the mouth. Unfortunately, there are those that are too excited for their own good. This piece will serve as a warning to those who want to avoid these Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks.
Just like with other games in the franchise, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are most likely going to be leaked before the launch date. While this action is mainly done by people as a form of excitement, this often ruins the thrill of the unknown for members of the community. In order to stay free of these leaks, writers at the Game Haus have compiled these tips in order to help those who want to be surprised.
In order to keep the algorithm from showing spoilers by accident, go into the Google and/or Youtube settings and freeze the algorithm’s capabilities to keep delivering things related to Pokemon. This helped gamers escape Kingdom Hearts 3 spoilers in 2019 and can help people avoid leaks and spoilers. People going on Youtube can also partake in other content to purposely manipulate the algorithm into avoiding Pokemon topics until well after the games have been released.
The most common thing people do is take hiatuses from social media. This includes group chats. Due to the fact that fans choose to be in groups pertaining to fandoms, it is hard to avoid the algorithm this way. Players should mute or leave group chats that they think will contain spoilers. People should also avoid leaker Twitter accounts such as Riddler Khu and other Pokemon Youtubers.
This is not to say all traffic to these content creators should stop. Not every fan has to stay away from leaks. This piece is catered to those who are. On a side note, being off social media will make for a more productive day. But still please tune in to the Game Haus. This is specifically catered towards Youtubers, but with all the updates to the platform, people can now be spoiled by the thumbnails of certain videos. During Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon’s release, Youtuber Mixeli put a blocker on the thumbnail to his rip of the Champion theme so that the image of the champion opponent would not be spoiled for people. Pokemon YouTubers can absolutely still make content. However, disclaimers amongst other ways of going the extra mile would help the community co-exist with them without being spoiled.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet leaks are, reasonably, a concern to the community at large. Nevertheless, the situation is not inescapable, or impossible. For anyone that is motivated by leaks, this whole piece may not apply. However, everyone has a duty to be considerate and respect those that want their experience to be genuine first. Please, exorcise restraint for the future champions of Paldea.
