Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are getting closer, trainers. The one thing that always gets people talking is the features. Pokemon always adds and removes certain features every generation. This piece will go over every feature confirmed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so far.
Overworld Shinies: Players will be able to see shiny Pokemon in the overworld before they challenge them (like in Legends).
Choice Trainer Battles: Trainers will no longer force the player into battles from walking into their sights. Players will have to talk to NPCs in order to battle them. NPC trainers who want to battle have an icon above their head and must be interacted with to battle with
Learn and Re-Learn Moves: Pokémon can Learn and Re-Learn Moves from the Menu, also like in Legends.
Improved Healing Feature: A New Feature has been added where the player can select a Pokémon and it can automatically heal using items in their bag
Enhanced Character Customization: Added Eye Shape & Eyelashes. Plus, there aren’t any clothes or hairstyles that are exclusive to one gender anymore. The player can also customize their trainer from the beginning of the game.
New Battle Experience: Players can rotate the Camera during battles. Unlike Legends, unfortunately, the player can’t move their trainer
New Encounter Start Mechanics: The player can throw a PokéBall to a wild Pokémon to Start a battle. It will start a battle, but will not catch it.
New EXP Share and Auto Battle: XP gained with Auto Battle will be shared with the player’s team but it will be decreased. The player can Auto Battle while riding Koraidon and Miraidon
New Boosts: The player can crouch and throw a Pokeball to a Wild Pokémon from behind and their Pokémon will get a boost. Unlike Legends though, it will not increase the chances of catching the Pokemon.
There are no Random Encounters
Sandwiches as a Shiny Hunting Method: The Sandwich in the Picnic feature will increase the chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon. Players have the option to buy or make their Sandwiches. In addition, they will need all the ingredients they selected for the Sandwiches and after the ingredient is placed, it can not be moved or removed.
Team Star: Once the player defeats the Torkoal, they can fight the Starmobile. Starmobile has Speed Boost
Better Item Finding: Items having an aura to be more visible at a distance (red for items or gold for TMs)
Anytime Box Access: Players can access their Pokemon boxes at any time
Independent Day and Night Cycle: There’s an internal day/night cycle within the game – it’s not based on the system clock
Large cities have loading screens and are distinct areas: For example, GameFreak made the City of Mesagoza big and impressive looking. However, the many shops were just window-dressing and players couldn’t actually enter them.
More Realistic Wild Pokemon: Wild Pokémon can watch the player battle and react to it
Following Pokemon: Just like in the Let’s GO Feature, the Pokémon the player has out will react to the weather.
Rotom Phone Case: Trainers can put cases on their Rotom Phones
All of these make for one of the seemingly best and richest Pokemon experiences for a Pokemon game. GameFreak confirmed all these features for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet so far. And if Gamefreak continues to be generous with their info, we might get even more in the coming days. Players can get more on this information at Serebii.net. Stay tuned, trainers.
