Good afternoon, trainers. The 7-star Samurott raid is live and everyone is fiending for their favorite aquatic samurai. After the last announcement, players finally know 7-Star Samurott’s moveset for the raid. This piece will break it down and provide adequate counters for it.
The raid boss Samurott will have this moveset:
Megahorn
Aqua Cutter
Night Slash
Drill Run
Extra Moves:
Bulldoze
Focus Energy
Swords Dance
Samurott’s nature will be lonely and its ability will be Shell Armor. Players should come with level 100 Pokemon.

One of the best counters for Samurott right now is Corviknight. Corviknight’s only two weaknesses are Fire and Electric, as well as containing resistance to every type of move this boss has. It’s even immune to ground moves like Bulldoze and Drill Run. Right now, the iron bird is the best counter for Samurott. Players should equip Corviknight with the following:
Drill Peck
Iron Defense
Reflect or Light Screen
Roost
Tera Type: Flying
An alternate option is Sunny Day to support the next counter on this list. Make sure Corvinkight has a +Atk nature and is ev trained in Defense. Give Corviknight Leftovers

The second best is Koraidon. Miraidon has passed the raid boss torch to its ancestral counterpart. Koraidon’s Dragon/Fighting type allows it to resist Samurott’s stab Megahorn. Unfortunately, it is normally damaged by Ground. This makes Corviknight the better counter. However, if one still chooses to use Koraidon, this is a pretty solid build:
Flare Blitz or Flamethrower: Koraidon’s Sp. Attack is not the greatest, but neither is Samurott’s special defense. With help from its ability, however, the sunlight will make up for it.
Screech
Dragon Claw
Acrobatics
Make sure that Koraidon is ev trained in Speed and Physical Attack. Give it a Sitrus Berry to stave off recoil damage and so Koraidon is able to ditch an item to increase the damage from Acrobatics.
Tera Type: Dragon or Fire

A surprising sleeper hit, but Paldean Tauros can actually win the raid for prepared players in 6 to 7 turns. Youtuber, Austin John Plays, published a strat he got from fellow Pokemon player, Anubis, and it worked for him more times than not. The build is below:
Ability: Anger Point
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: Attack and Defense
Nature: Adamant
Moves:
Tail Whip
Sunny Day (If not partnered with a Pokemon that has it)
Raging Bull
Any move of the player’s choice
These are the three best counters right now. If any new builds come out, this article will be updated.
This 7-star raid boss looks to be a bit harder than Decidueye. However, with 7-Star Samurott’s moveset revealed, hopefully, players will have an easy time with these recommended builds or one of their own. Have fun, everybody.
