It was a surprise to many to see a Pokemon Legends Z-A trailer during the latest Nintendo Direct but we got a major update to the game. More Pokemon shown and a new battle mechanic that should get fans excited. Below is our list of everything you may have missed in the Pokemon Legends Z-A trailer during the Nintendo Direct for March 2025.
Nintendo Direct Pokemon Legends Z-A: Everything You Missed
We are going through the trailer so you can follow along below. There will also be a video version of this as well.
- Pokemon shown for the first time
- Mega Slamance shown for the first time
- Looks like it is using Draco Meteor
- Gogoat
- Pinsir
- Meostic
- Mega Gallade
- Haunter
- Noivern
- Dragalge
- Mega Gengar
- Elemental Monkeys all confirmed
- Emolga
- Skiddo
- Malamar
- Binacle
- Heracross
- Hawlucha
- You can go inside in different locations.
- Different Items are shown at the Pokemon Centers
- A Potion for the first time
- The graveyard zone is more fleshed out
- Shops in the wild zone
- Fly is confirmed to be back as you can see it in Zone 6 on the map
- You can dodge moves like you could in Pokemon Legends Arceus
- Pokemon confirmed to be outside of wild zones as well
- Wild Zones and Red trainer zones do not have to be in the same areas
- Z-A Royale was what was shown at the end of the Pokemon Day trailers
- You have a win total in battle zones
- 2 new currencies in these zones as well
- A gold coin & tickets
- At the 1:57 mark, you can see more areas to fly to. It looks like cafes and battle zones can be flown to
- The time of day is tracked on your mini map in the top left
- At 1:59 you can see a Boltund on the jacket of a trainer which means that at least Pokemon in Gen 8 can be in the game.
- Trainers can spot you again not like in the past few games where you had to take to them.
- You can strike first
- Also, your move’s effectiveness can bee seen directly on the move
- At the 2:09 mark, you can see a yellow zone on the left. Is that a combination of two zones or something completely different?
- Can you see the Ranks for all trainers or just at the higher levels?
- Each attack charges your Mega Evolution meter in the bottom right
- You can dodge moves with well timed moves like Dig
- Can your other Pokemon charge the Mega Evolutions that are seen when battling with Diggersby?
- Along with this, the C+ moves are there but how is that used for non-Mega Pokemon?
- There is a yellow exclamation point on the map during this seen as well with a flag near it. Likely for a quest?
- You can run away as well from the battle with the – button.
- For a brief second at 2:22 the map shows the shopping area and a new building type that we have not seen marked as well.
- Mega Evolution is officially timed.
- Maybe that meter is to earn Challenger’s tickets to face the trainer.
- There are Battle Zones and Promotional matches used to show when you can level up.
- Do all the trainers have names that match their Rank?
- Boltund shown again on the taxi driver Zach’s sleeve.
- Are there more forms of travel other than Taxis?
- What can your wish be at the end of the Battle Royale.
- Markings on the Monument in the background.
- Pink light at 3:01. Is that a new Mega evolution or maybe the A Pokemon?
