During the Present, the Pokemon Company told fans that the postcards from gifts in GO have a new use. Players that send their postcards to their copy of Scarlet or Violet will be able to influence the Vivillon that spawn in the overworld. This is because different postcards contain different location data. And each bit of location data will affect the Vivillon that spawns.
This will allow trainers to collect many variations of Vivillon. Players will be able to do this today, February 27. Fans can finally go bug catcher for their living dexes.

In addition to getting different Vivillons, GO players will also be able to get the Roaming Form Gimmighoul in their games. This will also allow them to work toward getting Gholdengo in Pokemon GO. Pokemon’s attempt to bring these lovable, virtual creatures to the real world is finally complete. Go out and have fun exploring all around you, trainers.
Generation 9 and GO connectivity is something that fans have been frothing at the mouth for. Roaming Gimmighoul is cute as heck. And now players can have that and chest form. The community is close to being able to form their perfect Vivillon living dex entries.
