On the original Squirtle Community Day, there were login issues that plagued players who tried to play through their Pokémon Trainer Club accounts. Niantic Customer Support did advise these trainers to log in through another method, but there are two problems with this instruction:
In light of those issues, Niantic is hosting a makeup event for all trainers. The event is on Sunday, July 23, and will have the same properties, research quests, and rewards as the original Squirtle Community Day event. While this event is primarily for the trainers who missed out, the event is open to all players who want to expand their Squirtle Squad.
Niantic has thanked the community for their patience and understanding. However, whether players find this genuine or empty is up to them.
Players should prepare themselves for the Squirtle Community Day Relaunch on the 23. Additional preparations for the second wave are clearing space in one’s Pokémon Storage, making sure they have enough Pokécoins to replenish their research, and making sure there are no commitments on that day.
Good luck, trainers. But don’t worry, the Squirtle Squad is always happy to take in new shade-wearing faces.
