And, seeing as the relaunch of Squirtle Community Day went well, it is only fitting that another one is brought to light. This piece will go over the details of the Pokémon GO Poliwag Community Day.

It’s Time to Celebrate Everyone’s Favorite Kanto Tadpole

Starting July 30, Poliwag is swimming its way into the spotlight. Players will be able to catch more of this special friend from 2pm to 5pm. Any Poliwag caught and fully evolved during this period will know Counter as a Poliwrath.

This will help it deal with normal and steel threats like Lickitung and Registeel. If players go for evolving Poliwhirl into a Politoed instead, it will learn Ice Beam. This makes it a threat against Grass types and Flying types. Not to mention Dragon if a player uses one in the Ultra League. Dragonite, Haxorus, and Garchomp amongst other dragons are regular threats.

Event Bonuses

During the event, and for a bit after it, players can enjoy these benefits:

• 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event.
• 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
• 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
• Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
• Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
• Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise! (No, Pokémon.com did not specify what the surprise is.)
